“You Should Have Thought Of That Before You Cheated”: Heartbreaking and Vengeful Confessions Of Betrayed Partners

1. Get Out

My ex-wife was an alcoholic. Like... bad alcoholic.

One time I got home from my night shift a little early, and you guessed it, she was drunk. Well, I was horny, and she's usually drunk when we have sex anyway, so what the hell, I came onto her.

So, we're having sex and it's dark and she says, "You need to hurry up."

So I ask, "Uh, why?"

"He's going to be home soon."

"Uh... who?"

"My husband, you idiot."

So, I pull out and hop out of the bed and flip on the light, and this witch looks absolutely baffled. She's really drunk, and totally dumbfounded.

I asked her, "Who did you think was with you?"

"Who did you think was with you?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Nevermind, I'll talk to you about it in the morning."

"I'm NOT drunk."

Yeah, she didn't even know what I was on about. So, I go to bed on the couch, and I'm sitting there going over stuff in my head, and I hear her come down the stairs. She goes into the kitchen and I hear a drawer shut. A few seconds later, she's standing over me with a knife!

I promptly took the knife from her. Toldl her to go to bed - which she obliges without saying a single word. I grab the kids and put them in the car, and drive to my mom's house where we spend the night.

We have a mini-intervention. She promises to go to AA. I attempted to erase the entire night from my memory (which didn't work obviously).

About a month later she hasn't held up to her AA agreement, and has pretty much gone back to her old ways. I come home from work, and I see a LA Dodgers hat on my couch.

"Uh... who was over?" I ask.

"Are you sure?"

"Don't lie to me. Who was over here?"

"Are you calling me a liar?"

"Yeah. I am, because someone left their hat on my couch!"

At this point she concocts some stupid story about a neighbor coming to borrow something. I knew she was lying. At this point I had pretty much given up on the marriage, but didn't know what to do. I was afraid that if I divorced her she'd somehow get the kids.

A lot more messed up stuff happens over the next month or so, including her making up a story about Mexicans jumping her, my neighbor calling CPS, me catching her actually kissing a guy, two potheads admitting to having a threesome with her.

Then, one day in July of 2008 I asked her to have a seat. I told her that I was filing for divorce. She put up a fight, but I won full custody of my kids. I started dating again, and have been with my "new" wife for nine years now.

2. So… You’re Not Paul?

I met this girl who was working the late shift at a drugstore. We flirted a few times, eventually exchanged numbers, and started sleeping together. After a few weeks, she invited me to go drinking at this crappy little bar she liked in the north side of the city. So we spend the night dancing together, drinking, and talking to people she knows. Eventually a guy comes up to me, saying, "Great to meet you finally! Congratulations on the engagement!"

"What are you talking about?!", I replied, laughing as I choked on my drink a bit.

Guy gives me a quizzical look, and says, "You're here with Corrie. It's Paul, right!?"

I raised an eyebrow and pointed a thumb to my chest, stating, "Nah man, name's Kyle." We stared at each other, watching each other realize what was playing out on this fateful night.

Corrie was engaged to a guy named Paul, I was the other guy. Paul worked out of town for weeks at a time.

It was actually interesting, how you literally could see the word travel around the small bar, drastically changing the vibe in the room. We left shortly after.

She brought me, the guy she was cheating on her fiance with, to her favorite bar. She brought me to a place full of friends that at least knew her well enough to know she was engaged to a guy named Paul, not Kyle.

Messed up stuff. Didn't see her again after that.

According to Facebook, Paul and Corrie are currently married.

3. Your Bro Is My Bro

I dated this girl a few years back and I became really good friends with her brother just because he appreciated my help during a difficult time for their family (their father had abruptly passed away).

2 years into the relationship the brother contacts me and asks to meet up for coffee and a serious conversation.

Apparently HE caught his own sister with another guy (mutual friend of ours) and this shit had been going on for like a year.

As soon as he found out, I was told.

Broke up with her. Still friends with her brother. Go figure.

4. Graveyard Godfather

The girlfriend and I had been together for 7 years. I was working graveyard shifts for 4 years that had completely ruined my body. I stopped producing testosterone at age 28 because of it, and as a result I began to experience erectile dysfunction. The girlfriend held on for about 2 years, but my lack of performance eventually became too much for her, which is absolutely understandable. Eventually I noticed she was staying out more often, and her behavior had changed. One evening, I approached her in the kitchen and asked if there was anything she would like to confess. She admitted that she had been sleeping with 3 different men and 2 women while I was at work; it had been going on for months. We agreed that our relationship had run its course and decided to separate.

We continued to live as roommates for the next 3 months and then I moved out. We are still great friends 6 years later. She now has a beautiful baby boy with her boyfriend and I am his godfather. They even named the child after me which I find is a really sweet gesture. I haven't been with anyone since then but maybe someday I'll find love again. Fingers crossed lol.

5. Divine Intervention

We had just moved into our dream house, literally one day after we moved in, and I went to put money in his wallet for lunch and a love note fell out. There wasn’t a name on it, just initials so I pulled up our cell usage and found a phone number with thousands of texts (including mine and my son's birthday!

He was too tired to participate in spending the day with us. I couldn’t care less about my birthday, my son and I have the same birthday so he was really a jerk for ignoring a 6 year old) I did a reverse phone search and found her. I called her, found her parents, grandparents, siblings and told them all!

She was his medic partner and was engaged. I learned EMS also stands for extra marital situations after hearing that it happens a lot with people hooking up with their partners. I talked to her and of course she heard about the loveless marriage, how we were already separated, typical one sided excuses blah blah blah and she was very surprised to find out I was pregnant! Because apparently we hadn’t slept together in over a year. I thought it was funny when I told her that evidently he was cheating on her with me.

He denied cheating on me even though she fully admitted to it and he decided to stay in a hotel. I drove near his work and found his car at one. I told the clerk I lost the key and showed him my ID that had the same last name and address so I got a key!

Only his car was outside and imagine their surprise when I walked right in. They grabbed me and threw me out. I was holding our almost 2 year old! He STILL denied it! I said only one bed was slept in but he tried to say she was just there helping him, being supportive… It took him over a decade to admit it, after she started cheating on him with their married boss. Karma. I laughed my head off when he told me.

After finding out and then losing the pregnancy I decided to move back home (we had moved across the country 2 years prior so my family and friends got me through it) I had an agreement drawn up that he was ok with me moving and taking the kids. I packed 5 suitcases and filled my vehicle up with the kids toys and pictures and shipped the car back. Sold the house fully furnished, TVs, dishes, towels… I didn’t want a single thing that we had together. I’ve been a model ex wife, I don’t get into his business or anything.

He promised to turn the kids against me because he didn’t know I was moving home, even though he signed the agreement approved by a judge! Kids are 18 and 22, both in college and he tried to turn them but it hasn’t worked, and won’t because he spent 32 days with them over 13 years and hasn’t given them a dime for college or Christmas/birthday cards for years.

He went back and started denying it again a few years ago. I’ll never forgive him. We weren’t perfect but I didn’t deserve the hell he put us through for years. When I had the miscarriage he said “it’s for the best because it’d just be another child I wouldn’t be there for '' he never tried to have relationships with them but holds it against me. A lot of craziness happened before I left and I questioned if my moving was the right thing. Then a couple years later a freak tornado hit that town and half the house was blown away.

6. Father’s Help

Drove 4 hours to surprise her only to see her having sex in the backseat of some dude's car after she had started crying to me on the phone earlier that day because she missed me so much.

A different girlfriend told her Dad she was going to meet me and told me she was running some errands for her Dad and would meet me later that evening. Her Dad and I got along really well so I went to her house to spend time with him and wait for her. As soon as I pulled in the driveway he asked me why she wasn't with me and after comparing stories we both realized what was happening.

The coolest thing to me was that he was so disappointed that he helped me bust her when she came home. I hid my car and waited in the house for her to get back. He asked her how I was doing and what we had been up to all evening. When she finished her lie I walked out of the other room and went and got in my car and left.

7. Hallucinations

I was in the middle of a nervous breakdown and was unable to sleep so would be in our living room most of the time, which also was the kitchen. He would bring her home and would then blatantly lie to me saying I must be hallucinating, there was no one else there but us.

He persuaded me to get my meds checked then would come to the doctor appointments with me to "help". He wound up being so cocky that he would cook meals in the same room with her while I was pretty much comatose from my altered meds.

Eventually, my parents worked out what he was doing and that they weren't hallucinations so they came and helped me pack everything up to leave. While in hospital recovering, I still paid my share of rent and bills until we could terminate the lease.

8. Seeing Red

I came home from work early one night... walked into the phone ringing.. I answer it, it's for my bf. I call out his name as I walk in the living room and stop dead in my tracks cuz I see a witch's purse and flip flops on the floor next to my couch. I hang up the phone just as he emerges from our bedroom... tucking his hard on in his jeans and wiping his mouth at the same time.

Here’s where I flip out...”where is she?!” I’ma kill both of you!” He was smart enough to move out of my way... I got to my bedroom door, witch was in my bed naked trying to reason with me as I went to bash her head in. “Wait.. stop.. please!”

I beat her and threw her out of my house naked. She tried to grab her purse as she was running away from me and going for the door... nope!! Mine now witch!! Then I go after him. I busted his lip open and smashed his ps2. He was eating her out in my bed!!! Worst part is that I never saw it coming. I trusted him wholeheartedly… He was the first and only man to break my heart. So what did I do?... married him… and then cheated on him back. He deserved it. We’re still married.

9. Bankrupt

I had been diagnosed with 4 tumors, while in the ER for a broken arm, an arm he broke “accidentally” according to the police report. The next day he sent me to radiation oncology by myself for further testing. Okay, I thought, he’s saving his PTO for when we really need it... fast forward several months and my car needs a repair so I drop it off at the dealer and go get his truck so I can go to treatment, again alone. I find cards from the other woman and sticky notes that say “Smile! Somebody loves you”. I knew for months this was going on, just a gut feeling. He went to work on diagnosis day to hang out with her, not to save PTO.

So after my appointment, I had the ignition re-coded on his truck, ordered new tires for it, purchased a new bedroom and dining room set, bought myself, my friend and her family a trip to Jamaica, and paid my divorce attorney, charging it all to his credit card after calling to let the card company know about some large purchases. I also stopped by the bank and cashed out the home equity line and of course the hardware store to buy new locks for the house.

I proceeded to force him to file bankruptcy during the divorce after finding out he dropped around 100k while dating Trailer Park Barbie from work. Once that was done I clued my health insurance on the accidental injury to my arm that he admitted to causing in a police report and they sued him for all of my medical bills for it, he has to pay the bills.

The absolute best part though is as an accountant he had to have his exact half of my retirement account, all pre-tax money, meaning I got my exact half of his retirement account... it was Roth and I wrote the QDRO myself to take all the Roth money first.

But wait there’s more, the judge made him pay for my student loans and took away his guns for life.

Ultimately, don’t cheat on a woman for years, beat up on her and lie about it because she’ll kick your butt and have fun doing it.

In a community property state I got 96% of everything. He still lives in her rusty trailer and has beat her into the hospital several times, sad not sad.

10. Brother’s House

Me and my first gf had been together for 7 years. After college she got a job with an oil company and got to travel.

Well, one day after she got home I had decided to propose. Got a nice suit, nice ring, set up things for a nice dinner out.

Went over to her brother's house [she always stopped there first to say hi]. He isn't home, so I let myself in. Stretched out in her bedroom is her in full bondage gear. Tied and gagged to her bed, while her best friend [a woman] is ramming her in her back end, and her female coworker was ramming on her first end.

I go "what the heck!". The women freak out. I stormed out. Ex comes running out as I get to my car. She had not allowed sex due to her "religious views". I drive off, and get an angry message on phone. "I've cheated on you for 6 years. Men, women, professors, etc." No contact after that.

Result? I ended my apartment lease, moved to Texas. Found a new gf who loves me.

Ex left me a sappy message last week. "My gf cheated on me. And gave me herpes."

11. You Feel Even Better Than Usual

Boyfriend finally convinced me to have a threesome after months of begging. I finally agree and our mutual friend comes over. Things get hot and heavy and when he starts penetrating her, he moans, “Damn! You feel even better than usual!” Everyone freezes.

He tries to tell me that he was thinking about me while penetrating her and that it just felt different, but she felt so guilty that she confessed on the spot and begged me to forgive her. We don’t really talk anymore but last I heard she had been dating my ex for over a year.

12. I Must Be The Crazy One

Had a woman come into my workplace and literally attack me, screaming about how I was a witch and needed to "just let him go", and stop stalking and coming around his house because she'd seen my Jeep there when he was gone.

Finally, after I got her on the ground and made her shut up, I was able to determine that she was talking about my husband, who I was still married to and living with.

He had told her we were divorced and I was crazy and trying to sabotage his new relationships, so not to believe me if I ever contacted her. He was seeing her on nights I worked late or was at fire department training and he was bribing/threatening our son not to tell.

I got fired, then took a job further away so I was only home on weekends. I came back for my son.

13. Jokester

I was in the hospital for 3 months after breaking my neck in a car accident. My girlfriend and best friend came to visit me in the hospital. I called my GF the next day and jokingly said “You and my buddy really left here last night and messed around? He told me everything.”

Then she started sobbing saying “He promised me he wouldn’t tell”. Now I should add, I absolutely had no idea or suspicions that anything was going on between them. I was 100% messing with her. We’d always say absurd stuff to each other and say “syke!”. It was just a little joke we had.

So when she responded with “He told me he wouldn’t tell”, I thought she was just messing with me. But then I realized she was genuinely crying and it dawned on me that she wasn’t joking and completely believed my friend told me they had sex after leaving the hospital. I had just happened to make a joke about her cheating, the day after she cheated. That stuff really messed me up and I’ve had trust issues ever since.

14. Still Going At It

One guy I know met this girl at work and they both work at the reception to a gymnastics place that teaches everyone from kids to adults.

So he first caught her when they were at work. She was doing it in the bathroom with one of the coaches. She asked for forgiveness and against his better judgment, he did.

Fast forward two weeks, she claimed that she was going to her aunt's place to pick up something and so he let her leave but he had been to that auntie’s place and he saw on an app (where you can see where people are) that she was going in the opposite direction. So he and his sister followed her through the app to a dead-end street, no homes just woods.

He recognised the car, it was the coach. So he got out and walked over to the car to find her and the coach going at it. Naturally, she was shocked to see him there and after about 15 minutes of arguing, mind you the cheating GF and the coach were apparently still going at it for some reason, he broke up with her on the spot. The Worst part is that she didn’t care and just began to date the coach.

Honestly, I think that coach should remember that if she cheated on her previous BF, then she will one day cheat on him with someone else.

Also if you get caught cheating while also going at it, at least have decency to stop. I mean… first they catch you cheating on them and now they have to watch you have sex with another person. That is messed up.

15. Racial Issues

Saw this from the side lines. This black guy (his race becomes an issue later) dates this white girl in a university student organization. They become engaged after a year and a half. He starts to notice that she becomes distant, and she breaks it off with him mysteriously and never tells him why.

He was devastated to say the least. It was his senior year at University and he just dropped out. Packed his things and after a few months found a job. He left the state and moved across the country to a place where he knew no one in and had never visited.

Come to find out, the year before, a bigwig and donor of the student organization didn’t like interracial relationships and slowly poisoned it by pressuring the girl's mentors (in the organization) to slowly speak out against it for reasons other than race. It was being dismantled and that guy never knew till close to the end.

When I spoke to him he said “It wasn’t just losing his fiancée that destroyed him, but having his whole social circle smile in his face but undermine him behind his back”. I’m not gonna lie,  I only reached out to him out of guilt because I was one of those who betrayed him. And it meesed me up a little when I learned the whole story.

16. Fame’s Price

She was into photoshoots. I always tried to be there with her. One time she had a photoshoot opportunity in Georgia. I had work, and couldn't go.

One thing led to another, she was promised fame, fortune, money, etc etc, all she had to do was film a porno with the dude.

She did it.

I read her messages when she was back.

I found it in myself to eventually forgive and let her travel again and she still went to go see the guy.

It really hurt my trust in people. I never spoke to another woman without her knowledge.

17. Memorable Lunch

My boyfriend’s Mom took me out to lunch to get to know me better. We really kicked it off and had a great lunch. She had to run home because she forgot to grab a gift for a shower we had to attend after and we found her husband screwing the neighbor on the couch... She was mortified and never the same around me again.

Her son and I split because of that (he didn’t think his Dad was wrong because his mom gained weight- as in she was now 140 5’6” and not 120), so I never found out what happened.

18. Police Intervention

Wife left for work and left her phone at home because she had dropped it in the toilet and couldn't get it to work. I got the phone dried out and somehow got past the lock screen (in the water under the phone screen made my touch inputs really crazy), made me end up in her text messages. I saw a picture of a positive pregnancy test discussion about what kind of medicines she could take to end a pregnancy. I figured at this point she had been cheating on me for several months, I eventually "got over it" for the sake of the kids. I'm sure it was still going on but I think my mind kind of put it on the back burner because I didn't really want to pretend any of it was happening.

Abruptly she wanted to move to a new location like a house. Our lease was coming up and I wanted a little more room for the kids to play and stuff so I thought that was fine, but I suspect the real reason she wanted to move was to get away from our neighbors whom I was pretty close to and would probably tell me if they were strange guests coming over while I was at work.

Anyways, one day I came home early and found her cheating on me with a guy. The car was parked in my driveway. I took a picture of the license plate and talked to her about it kind of played it off like whatever went on with my life for another month. Next month her dad comes over unannounced to see the kids on Grandparents Day finds out this guy that she's cheating on me with is here and he ends up choking her.

I get called away from work because the police are at my house for possible assault charges, and I show the police the license plate of the guy that was at my house a month ago. They end up getting in contact with him and getting the story. My father-in-law ended up contacting this guy who was an officer in the Air Force and he ended up losing his family and some of his rank. Naturally I'm like I really don't want to break the family apart so I keep putting up with the crap. A couple months later I find out that she's giving me an STD (a really mild one luckily), which I can get rid of only to get again a couple months later.

So yeah, safe to say we're divorced now. We're still friends in a sense, we don't really hold any hard feelings towards each other. I'm raising both of the children by myself which is hard but just working with what I got here. I got a great career. Kids are total sweethearts, I'm dating someone else now but I feel like I've changed as a person behind all of the emotional abuse. Unfortunately my adulthood has been an episode of Maury which is a shame cuz I'm actually a pretty damn normal person.

19. Swinger

I don't want sympathy because I also cheated on someone a few years after this story (I was just being a selfish prick - no other words for it). But when I was 20 I was dating this girl who lived about an hour away. I fell head over heels. However, she was also extremely sexual (like 3-4 times a day sometimes) and kept telling me her fantasies about group sex and being watched.

I should have realized she wouldn't be able to be monogamous, especially since we only saw each other on weekends, but I was egotistical and figured I was all the man she needed.

Found out from her friend's brother - who was a little piece of work and had a smile on his face when he told me. He has no idea how close he came to me breaking his teeth. He wasn't telling me to be nice, he just wanted to see my face when I found out. I was 20 and he was 15 - it's the only thing that saved him. I actually hate him waaaay more than her. It was her nature and she needed to be in open/swinger type relationships and was just too naive to know it.

20. Thin Walls

Me and my fiancé shared our bedroom wall with another tenant. It was 2 separate apartments but directly next to each other if that makes sense. Anyways when I was at work , the tenant who lived in the other apartment complex texted me asking if me and my fiancé could “keep it down” in reference to noise being made in the bedroom.

I texted back that I wasn’t home, I was at work. Then the tenant replied that someone was in the room with my fiancé if it wasn’t me. I left work and sprinted home as I was just 15 min walk away (living in Wellington New Zealand). Showed up to the apartment and my fiancé’s clothes were scattered all over the floor and he was in our bed with one of HIS employees. I moved all my things out that night when he was at work and we never spoke or saw each other again. I left the country shortly after.

21. Violence Was Necessary

Decides to be the "crazy person" and check her phone after months of her being distant, cold and our sex life basically stopping. I found texts that spanned the last 4 out of 5 years of our relationship talking to a guy who she met on a high school trip to London.

So many graphic texts, nudes sent and received and a history of long Skype video calls (this was 2018). Found out the guy moved here to the states and was living in our city. He talked a bunch of crap about how he was gonna fight me and steal her from me and she told him how hot that would be and SHE GAVE HIM MY ADDRESS AND GATE CODE.

I broke up with her and had a bit of a freak out (I did not get violent even when she slapped me because I don't hit girls). A week after I dumped her I heard a British man yelling outside of my apartment window at 2am calling for me to come outside. I knew exactly who it was and when I told him "no I'm not fighting you" he called me weak and threw a rock at my window which cracked it. That was the final straw and I went downstairs and proceeded to beat the man senseless. I've since moved, met my fiance who is the mother of my beautiful child and I've sobered up and avoided violence at all costs. Screw that terrible situation.

22. Chose To Be Happy

Things had been a little shaky as I was working a lot and felt sapped when she wanted to go be social with friends so I often stayed home.

I wanted to do something nice for her for Valentine's day so I sent her friend a text asking if there was something that she may have mentioned she would like to do. As I was waiting on that text I was in another room I saw her phone buzz with her friend's name. The number was below the name and since I had just sent her a text I knew they didn't match.

There are very few times my blood has been that cold and feelings of dread.

I called the number with my phone and it rang and rang before going to voicemail. Needless to say it was the other guy.

I confronted her about it and she said she was waiting to leave and had a bag packed in case I found out. She had no intentions of trying to work things out so a month later she had moved out.

I made a decision then that I could be broken up and miserable or that I could choose to be happy and be open to a relationship if it was available. I've since remarried and have two beautiful boys with my amazing wife.

Regardless of the bad and horror in these stories, there is always the opportunity to be happy.

23. TV Gave It Away

Early 2000s, my friend's husband was deployed to Iraq. Together, they had a 10 year old son and a happy marriage. One day, while he was deployed, I was at home when another one of our friends called and screamed "Holy Moly! Turn on the news right now!" I turned it on to watch a human interest story about a fundraiser at a high school 30 miles away. They're doing Relay for Life or something, and as a "surprise" to one of the participants, they had her "husband" and father of her two grade school children do a video call from Iraq, and displayed it on the football jumbotron.

There on our local news is my friend's husband, telling another woman and two kids how he loves them and can't wait to get back home to them. The news eats it up, about what a great guy he is. That night, our group of friends convened and decided how we would tell her. I was nominated, so the next day I had to sit her down and tell her what we saw. She called the news station, and they were happy to let her come in and watch the story. They were also incredibly apologetic.

Story has a somewhat bad ending, I'm afraid. She called him out on his bs, they started divorce proceedings, and he went on to legally marry the mother of his other kids, and mostly ignored his son from the first marriage.

24. Ruined Vacation

I was in Florida on vacation with my girlfriend of 6 years, our four year old son, and her family and a few of her friends. She had been taking pictures down at the beach all afternoon on her phone. We got back to the house we were staying at and everyone was in the kitchen making dinner. I picked up her phone and opened it up to text my family the pictures she had taken.

As I’m scrolling for the thread, I see her ex-boyfriend’s name. Open up the messages and first thing there are videos of them masturbating they had sent to each other. I yelled “what the f… is this?” Her mom turned toward me and asked what was wrong and I loudly proclaimed what I’d seen. She said that she had gone out with some friends, gotten drunk, invited him out for a drink, and ended up blowing coke all night. Then said she got blackout drunk the next night and sent the videos. Claimed that was the only time she’d seen him.

Yeah, so when she fell asleep of course I went through her phone again. She’d seen him multiple times throughout the previous two months, and I found pictures of them together posing like a cute couple on their dates. Her brother and Dad were PISSED. I got outta there the next morning. Ruined the vacation for pretty much everyone, and totally wrecked our family.

25. Grown Man Cry

Theres’s a medical resident I met on rotation recently. One of the nicest guys I ever met, super intelligent and hardworking, and training to be a trauma surgeon but humble as they come. He had been married for 2 years to his wife. One night he gets off a 30 hour call early and heads home to surprise his wife with some flowers and her favorite dessert (it was the anniversary of the day they first met). Only to find her in bed with a random dude.

He was so exhausted and confused, he didn’t know what to do and just left and went back to the hospital. I saw him at 5AM, sitting in the parking lot, hunched over crying. He didn’t even have his phone with him, he was just sitting there. Man, nothing breaks your heart more than seeing a grown man cry, it’s not something you see often. We called his dad up and he came and picked him up, the guy ended up taking a leave from his residency. Turns out, it wasn’t the wife’s first time sleeping around. Hope he gets back on his feet, he will make an amazing physician.

26. Never Neglect Your Needs

I was telling her sister that I was really concerned about her mental health. That she had largely stopped communicating with me. We shared this experience we both had or she seemed to be in the same room with us but like in a far-off place mentally.

And then I mentioned how I was annoyed that she spent more time talking to her discord friends, which I believed was a group of people, than she did me these days.

To which her sister said ”Yeah, I thought her talking to that guy so much was suspicious”.

When her sister said the words, guy and suspicious, I decided I should take a look at her phone.

It was all in plain English on Facebook Messenger. Luckily I caught it only a few weeks in but it was particularly hurtful because at that time I had been putting her needs before my own for months due to mental health issues of hers. I'm in a better place now, but at the time it was devastating. I had never been so uncontrollably emotional. I was angry and although I did not do anything physically violent I was doing a lot of yelling and screaming and just twitching or something. I was shaking a lot. It was really hard for me because part of it was me recontextualizing a lot of things that had happened previously and realizing why they had happened. Things like her going to the UPS store right before closing and not getting back for an hour and a half and telling me it was very full.

27. No Enemy Such As A Sister

I opened my sister’s door to ask for a hair tie and she was having sex with my bf. This was in high school but still. I spit on them, yelling why? And went downstairs to leave. My dad is in the living room on the computer and asks what's wrong.

I said "go upstairs and see for yourself" I ran outside and heard the yelling right away. My dad chased him out of the neighborhood naked. She got shipped to my moms house shortly after that.... and got pregnant at 17 yrs old.

28. Do You Still Love Me?

Was picking up on odd behavior towards me. I asked if he was okay a few times. Everything was fine, we kept going. One day I forgot to take my meds and was feeling so awful at work. I called to ask if he could possibly bring them to me since I couldn’t leave to get them. He said “No”. That’s it and I was like “uh okay are you okay?” He said nothing.

Obviously something was speaking to my soul because my next question surprised even me and was definitely not really related except just that same feeling…I simply and out of the blue said “Seriously, are you okay?” Nothing. Then idk it just came out “Do you still love me?” He said “No I’m sorry” and hung up. I sat at work for 3 more hours just bawling. At the time I had a 6 yr old I brought to the marriage and we had a 10 month old together. We had been married 11 months (together for 3 years). About a week later (as you can imagine I’m frantically still trying to understand what happened) I got the cell phone bill and happened to actually look at it for once. There were sooooo many calls to and from the same number to his line. Ya know 5 mins after I walked out the door for work (he worked nights I worked days) 3 am-6:30 phone calls. I went and pulled all the previous months for that year. Yep, the ENTIRE 10 months of my son being in this world he was with her daily. I called him he didn’t pick up so like someone that is legit just falling apart does I yelled at his voicemail.

We were taking turns staying in our home with the kids at this point while I was looking for a home to buy. Our home was also his mother’s home (she came by like 1x a week to do yard work, visit the kids etc ya I know I know) so when he didn’t pick up I went out and in my infinite wisdom started yelling at her about him cheating.

She stood there and took it all until I fell to my knees sobbing and then she held me. Still love his family. His girlfriend moved in the day after I moved into my new home. The hardest part was she just stepped right into my mom/wife role in the family home and all. She was also a friend of course.

They had a child together and guess what… Yep, not with her anymore either. He’s a great dad that supports his son and would move the stars for him and my oldest didn’t have a relationship with his father at all so he asked if he could come stay with his brother every other time. It was hard with the circumstances but they loved each other so he went for visits too. so I’ll let him have that great dad status. And kudos to his mom and sister because both also straight up told him he was screwing up a great thing and needed to get his life together. Gotta be honest, I was not expecting that one. 18 years later now and I’ve been beyond happily married for 15 and even am blessed with 2 bonus sons. Never would have guessed it would all be so good in the end. We actually always put our kids first after the divorce and still get along today despite the past.

29. I Thought You Died

We were high school sweethearts and had been together about seven years. We went to college together, worked together, basically spent 20 hours a day together. I left for the military and never got a single letter from her or heard anything about her from my mom (the only person who did write to me). Somewhere in the first two weeks out of thirteen, I came to the conclusion that she'd died and people were sparing me the stress while I was in boot camp.

I'm floored when I see her at graduation. She seemed cold and distant but she'd also recently gotten over a substance issue (or so I thought). I stayed with her for ten days before leaving for training instead of staying with my mom and I hardly saw her. She says she is working two jobs and going to school. I try to be understanding and supportive but she also didn't come home one night. We part on weird terms but she assures me she's just sad to see me go.

I'm a couple weeks into training and my family and girlfriend drive to see me. We have a really good three day visit and when they're dropping me off, I get a phone call from a good friend I'd known for years. He tells me how sorry he is. She had told him that I broke up with her when I left so I could have guilt free casual sex which was what I always wanted. He told me her sister found out we were still together from a text she had seen. He was so apologetic and I thought he was a piece of work before but that was the behavior of a stand up guy. She denied, denied, denied. This was a REAL crappy move on my part but I pulled the texts from our shared account (back when you could do that) but I justified it because her new boyfriend had already offered to send them to me. With texts in hand, she still denied it. We both moved on and she's married to him now.

30. Star Fish

My neighbor, who is also my best friend, was having his 30th birthday party and a bunch of people were over at his condo. He was intoxicated. A solid 7/10 intoxicated and spilled his beer on his shirt so he decided to change shirts. He asked me to come with him because he wanted to ask me something in private so I went with him upstairs. He opened his bedroom door and we saw his boss going to town with his fiancé.

I will never forget the look on his face, his fiancés face and his boss’s face. The silence was broken up by “This isn’t what it looks like '' routine. My friend responded with “If this isn’t what it looks like why was his d… so far inside you?” I stood there in amazement and was in a state of shock. His boss got dressed and I walked him out of the party. The POS even grabbed a roadie before he left. My friend came downstairs and immediately chugged a beer and announced “My now ex-fiancé was caught having sex with my boss and I walked in on them with her legs behind her head. I didn’t know she could do that. Usually she lays there like a star fish. Let’s get really messed up.” He was kind of a mess for a while after that. Luckily, it was his condo. He owned and paid for both cars. His fiancé just quit her job to be a housewife. Instant karma.

It took him a year to date again. I set him up with a coworker of mine. They are great together. The POS boss. Well, he got what he deserved in the end. He was caught sleeping with the wife of the owner of the company he worked for. Fired and my buddy was promoted. His fiancé....well, she moved in with her parents again and had to give up her lavish lifestyle. Last time I saw her she tried to flirt with me and be playful. I shut that down and told her never to speak to me again. Girlfriends come and go but best friends only come by every once in a while.
