Neighbor Won't Turn Off Flood Lights, Man Takes Revenge

Jack was sick of the bright lights shining through his window every night. He asked his neighbor several times to turn them off, but he refused.

After two weeks of sleep deprivation, he decided to do something about it.

Jack And Holly

Jack and his wife Holly had three beautiful children together. They lived in a beautiful, safe neighborhood and were friends with most of their neighbors.

Everything was going well for them until a middle-aged couple moved in.

No Sleep

The new neighbors would never turn off their floodlights, and it was bothering Jack and his wife. The light shone into their bedroom window, and the powerful beam kept them up all night.

So, Jack decided to politely talk to them about it.

The Reason

Jack soon found out that the couple ignored his request because the wife was afraid that someone would break into their house at night.

She needed to see the front of their garage at night to feel safe. That's why they kept the light on. Still, Jack thought it was unfair to other neighbors around them.

Not Giving In

The man still refused to turn off the floodlights despite Jack explaining that they couldn't sleep at night. It seemed like the couple didn't care about other people around them.

So, Jack decided to try a different approach.

The Plan

While his neighbors were away, he moved the security cameras around their house and waited until evening.

Then, he brought a ladder over to the couple's house and loosed the lights just enough so they wouldn't turn on.

Six Months Later

It took the couple six months to realize their lights weren't working.

Jack and Holly watched them from their window as they fixed their floodlights. He waited for a couple of weeks before he loosened them again. But this time, things wouldn't go as planned.

Another Three Months

Three months passed before the couple noticed the lights weren't working again. The man grabbed a ladder and tightened them once again.

But this time, he realized that something was off.

Unexpected Visitor

Suddenly, Jack and his wife heard a loud knock on their door. It was their next-door neighbor.

He asked the couple if they had any problems with the lights on their property. Jack looked him in the eye and said: “Yes, as a matter of fact, I do."

Lies

"They loosen up occasionally, and I have to retighten them. I blame it on the vibration from the traffic on our street," he continued.

But the neighbor didn't believe him.

Confrontation

“Really? Vibration from the street? Do you really expect me to believe that?” the man shouted.

“It’s funny how all this has unfolded. You really wanted those lights to go, and now, I find out that there's actually a problem with all outdoor lights?”

The Cop Card

“Listen, man," Jack said. “I’m a cop. If you’re accusing me of something here, I’ll be happy to take you down to the precinct, and we can talk this out”.

The neighbor was shocked. He didn't know Jack was a cop.

The Reaction

He calmed down and explained to Jack that he wasn't accusing him of anything.

“I eventually stopped tightening my lights and just left them off. They became a real nuisance," Jack continued.

He Let It Go

Eventually, the neighbor did the same thing as Jack and left the floodlights off.

Jack wondered what the neighbor would do if he didn't tell him he was a cop.

Happy

Overall, Jack and Holly were happy with how things played out.

Their neighbors haven't bothered them again with their bright lights.
