Canceled TV Shows Announced: 2022 Full Update

These days, our favorite TV shows are right at our fingertips. Shows like The Simpsons, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and Doctor Who, can be enjoyed at any given moment. Unfortunately, sometimes we're not so lucky, and our favorite show can get canceled.

For all the series fans, we have bad news - many series are going to be canceled this year. So which of these shows we won't see on screens what the reasons for that are? We've prepared all the answers for you.

Last Man Standing

This show was about to be canceled just after its sixth season, but the Last Man Standing ended up having three more seasons. The greenlight for this show’s seventh season was all thanks to a petition by its fans that was sent to the 20th Century Fox Television.

Although, like all good things, the Last Man Standing must come to an end. This is why it was canceled just after its ninth season, sometime in early 2021. What about this next show on our list?

Blue Bloods

Since it first aired in 2010, Blue Bloods has become a hit on CBS. This is a show unlike any other, and its fans are just not that ready to give it up.

Even the legendary Tom Selleck said, “I don’t think there is an endpoint. I think there is a lot of life in the show.” Well, this is good news to the loyal viewers of Blue Bloods – though can we say the same about this next show?

The Twilight Zone

Thanks to his hit films like Get Out and Us, Jordan Peele has become a powerhouse figure in Hollywood. This is why sparks flew all over when it was announced that Jordan was also behind the reboot of the show, The Twilight Zone.

However, even he couldn’t add more magic to the show because it was soon canceled after just a few seasons. Well, maybe his next show would be more of a hit – here’s to hoping!

Conan

If you like watching Conan O’Brien and if you like having a good laugh, then there’s a high chance that you’ve watched Conan. This show has given people a good time since it first aired in 2010.

However, even Conan himself couldn’t stop the waves of change because it was then canceled in 2022. We guess that even the most entertaining shows have to end somehow…

Supernatural

If you’re into shows that feature monsters and eerie backdrops, then you’re probably a fan of Supernatural. We don’t blame you, though, because this show was great, and they’ve reached their peak success after a few seasons.

Although, it did end around late 2020 after an impressive 327 episodes. We don’t know about you, but that’s seriously astounding. Here’s to hoping our favorite brothers, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, find new roles in the near future!

Dancing with the Stars

After around 29 seasons, the hit show Dancing with the Stars is still going stronger than ever. This is a show that gives joy and laughter to its audience, and we’re all easily entertained whenever we see our favorite stars bust out a dance move or two.

ABC acknowledges that Dancing with the Stars is one of their most popular shows, and they still don’t know how long it’s going to last on air. Well, we hope they give us more seasons, just like this next one!

Big Mouth

If you’re looking for an animated comedy that’s both cheeky and entertaining, then you should consider watching Big Mouth. This is a hit show made by Netflix, and it’s just an all too relatable show – that’s probably why it has gathered such a cult following.

Luckily for fans of this show, Big Mouth is coming back for its sixth season. We can’t wait to see what creators Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg have for us on its latest season. Now, let’s take a look at this next show…

Young Sheldon

If you were a fan of the hit show, The Big Bang Theory, then there’s a high chance that you might like Young Sheldon. This show follows along with the life of the younger version of Sheldon Cooper, and it’s become such a big hit with a 94% rating on Google.

It’s safe to say that we’ll see more of this show because it’s currently on its fifth season, and we think we’re about to get more. We hope we can say the same about this next show on our list…

The Morning Show

When it comes to toxic workplaces or even toxic work relationships, The Morning Show has everything you need and more. These are problems that most of us encounter daily, and it’s probably why it has slowly gathered a cult following since its release.

The Morning Show stars some pretty big names in the industry like Steve Carell and Reese Witherspoon. Maybe the star-studded cast also has something to do with its popularity, but we all know one thing: we just can’t get enough of it!

Criminal Minds

Can you think of a television show that’s been on the air for so long that it’s so hard to imagine our lives without it? Well, we can think of some, and the one on top of our list is probably the show, Criminal Minds.

Criminal Minds has been a stape since 2005, and it’s gathered some pretty great views and feedback along its run. Sadly, the show ended in early 2020 – we think that even this show has to come to an end, right?

Stranger Things

When the show Stranger Things aired in 2016, we all got pretty hooked. It has a story unlike any other, and the young stars of the show stole the scene.

Although we’ve been waiting for the next season for so long now, it begs us to ask the question: are we getting any more? Well, we think we are, but we also aren’t sure how long Netflix would want us to wait…

Dead to Me

This show was supposed to be the comeback role of both Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. Honestly, we can’t think of a better duo for the show Dead to Me than these two, don’t you think?

However, even two of the greatest stars of the days gone by couldn’t make a hit show. This is probably why Dead to Me was canceled after just three seasons.

The Queen’s Gambit

We have seen Anya Taylor-Joy’s breakthrough role in the hit miniseries, The Queen’s Gambit. It even became one of Netflix’s most successful and popular shows to date, and it’s not hard to see why.

The Queen’s Gambit has raked an impressive 62,000,000 viewers on the streaming platform, and it keeps growing by the day. While this show doesn’t seem to be getting another season, Netflix said the door is still open for discussion. Well, here’s to hoping!

9-1-1

The many fans of the hit show, 9-1-1, were glad to find out that Fox has agreed to renew the show. Not only that, but its sister show, 9-1-1: Lone Star, is also getting its fifth season.

9-1-1 is the brainchild of none other than Ryan Murphy, who’s produced various hit shows like American Horror Story, Glee, and Scream Queens. It’s probably why 9-1-1 is so good – well, we can’t wait to see how the show unfolds in its newest season.

American Idol

Since it first aired in 2002, American Idol has given us some of the most popular names in the music industry, like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Adam Lambert, among others. This is probably why its producers are having a hard time getting this show off the air.

American Idol has given hope to those aspiring singers around the country, and the newest judges can’t wait to see who they’re going to discover next. Who do you think will be the newest American Idol?

Master of None

The show, Master of None, has had a multi-year hiatus, and this had fans fearing for the worst. Luckily, its producers announced that the show would be returning for its third season in the middle of 2021.

Although, even its producers aren’t sure whether Master of None would get a fourth season. We guess that we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Now, what about this next show on our list?

It’s probably not a surprise when Netflix announced that there would be another season of Bridgerton that’s coming very soon. What do you think will happen, and do you think they’re going to find out who Madame Whistledown is?

Keeping Up with the Kardashians

Since this show aired in 2007, the whole world has been hooked on watching the lives of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Thanks to the hit reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, we’ve also grown up with their family.

Although like most hit reality shows out there, Keeping Up with the Kardashians must come to an end. This is why the family decided to pull the plug just in 2020. Well, we can still keep up with this family on social media, so we don’t think that’s too much of a big deal.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

One of the best shows that came out of Amazon Prime is none other than The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. This is also the breakthrough role that put Rachel Brosnahan on the map.

Before it became the hit show that we know it today, Shameless actually started as a British sitcom – who would’ve thought? Thanks to Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy’s astounding performances, Shameless has become a powerhouse show around the world.

Although even Shameless had to end, and CBS’ Showtime announced that its eleventh season would be its last. Now, this next one is a great show too, but would it be canceled like Shameless?

Atypical

After getting nominated for a Peabody Award, the show Atypical has gotten such great reviews from its fans and critics. Atypical changed the norm about teenage dramas, and it talks about the ups and downs of people’s lives in the spectrum.

However, it was announced that while Atypical will have a fourth season, this will be its last. It’s pretty sad if you ask us, but we guess that’s how it must go. Now, let’s take a look at this next hit show…

The Handmaid’s Tale

Is there anybody out there who hasn’t seen a single episode of the hit show, The Handmaid’s Tale? This show was based on Margaret Atwood’s bestselling novel of the same name, and it’s gathered such a cult following ever since its release.

Thanks to Elisabeth Moss’ amazing performance, The Handmaid’s Tale has become such a hit. We don’t think this show will be canceled anytime soon, and we’re quite happy about that – aren’t you?

Supergirl

During its first season, Supergirl seemed like it wasn’t going to be a hit, but they were wrong as it turned out to be such a lucrative investment for The CW. Even though there was quite a few superhero shows when it aired, this show has gathered a fanbase of its own.

Although even if Melissa Benoist’s portrayal was great, Supergirl was still set to be canceled. Its last season was released in 2021, but we think we’re going to keep on watching this show until we eventually get tired of it…

The Walking Dead

We’ve all walked with the dead for countless seasons, and we loved the thrill and the action that the show brought. The Walking Dead has become so popular that its stars have gathered great popularity outside of the show.

However, even the best zombie show on the planet had to end. The producers said that The Walking Dead would have its eleventh season in 2022, and it will be its last one on air. We don’t know how to feel about this.

Euphoria

One of the best breakthrough hit shows from HBO is none other than Euphoria. It doesn’t only boast of a great and relatable storyline, but its star-studded cast is impressive as is.

Euphoria has given us Zendaya as we’ve never seen her before, and it’s one of the reasons we can’t get enough of this show. Thankfully, this show doesn’t seem to be going anytime soon. So we can’t wait to see what Zendaya and her co-stars do in the following seasons!

Pose

If you want to take a glimpse at what New York City was like in the 1980s, then you only have to watch the show, Pose. This is another show created by Ryan Murphy, and that alone is saying a lot.

Although Pose has been nominated for a Golden Globe, this didn’t cement its rightful place in the industry. After only three seasons, Pose was sadly canceled in the middle of 2021. Now, what about this next show on our list?

This Is Us

Just when we think that we’ve seen enough of Mandy Moore, she gives us an astounding performance in This Is Us. This show has garnered a few awards like the prestigious SAG Award, and it’s not hard to see why.

While many viewers enjoy The Simpsons, is it time for this show to end soon? Well, we don’t think so, and it was even confirmed by Fox that The Simpsons wouldn’t leave our screens in the near future.

Doctor Who

This show is one of the longest-running sci-fi series on television today, and it’s safe to say that we won’t be seeing the last of Doctor Who for a while. Doctor Who stars Jodie Whittaker, Matt Smith, and Peter Capaldi, and they’ve all done such a great job in keeping the show alive.

Doctor Who is currently on its thirteenth season, with the fourteenth one coming up really soon. It’s safe to say that we can’t wait to see what this new season holds, which is more than we can say for this next show…

Grey’s Anatomy

One of the longest-running medical fiction shows on television today is none other than Grey’s Anatomy. While most of its original cast has either moved hospitals or been killed, Ellen Pompeo’s character is stronger than ever.

Grey’s Anatomy is currently on its nineteenth season, and we can’t help but ask this question: is it still worth it? It’s not every day that we get to say that a show should be canceled, but maybe it’s time for Grey’s Anatomy to close its curtain – what do you think?

The Good Doctor

Who knew that Freddie Highmore has the potential to play such a talented doctor? Well, it’s surprising, but it also gave the show, The Good Doctor, the leverage that it needed to compete with other medical fiction shows like Grey’s Anatomy and New Amsterdam.

It’s also safe to say that people love watching The Good Doctor because it’s still going on. Even its production company doesn’t want to cancel it, so we think we’re going to see a lot more of Freddie’s incredible performance in seasons to come.

The Good Fight

This particular show has gotten such a great reputation from its get-go, and it’s no wonder why. The legendary actress Christine Baranski is one of the stars of The Good Fight, and it has become a hit since its release.

Thanks to Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s astounding cast, the show has become such a blockbuster. Although, like most things in life, this show’s eighth season is bound to be its last…

Lucifer

It’s thanks to Lucifer that we’ve discovered the superstar that is Tom Ellis. His portrayal of this classic character is both amazing and impressive – he’s the best guy for the role.

Lucifer has become such a hit since its release, and this is why it’s continually being shown on Netflix. However, it’s rumored that its sixth season would be its last, which is quite sad. Now, what about this next show on our list?
