11 Year Old Delivers Baby And Goes To School The Same Day

Delivering A Child Into The World

Jessie felt her hands shake as she held the baby in her arms. She had just delivered this beautiful baby into the world. Her aunt lay next to her, and the two of them smiled at the glow of the child.

It would be a day of many firsts. And for Jessie Corgan, the 11-year-old would know for the first time what it would be like to be called a mother.

Happy Family

Jessie Corgan was a happy 11-year-old that lived with her aunt. Even though the events that brought her into her aunt’s life weren’t perfect, she still considered her family. She had raised her like her own mother.

Jessie’s mother wasn’t prepared to have a child, so when she gave birth to Jessie, her aunt quickly offered to take care of her. After a bit of paperwork, she was her legal guardian.

Aunt Miranda

Miranda was quite a bit older than her sister at 25. Ellen was 18, and when she changed her mind about her pregnancy, Miranda happily took in Jessie.

Now that she was 11, Jessie had developed an unbreakable bond with her aunt. She may as well have been her mother. But Jessie had no idea that in a matter of months, she would be a mother herself.

Ordinary Girl

Jessie was an ordinary girl. She lived in Michigan and went to a private school close by. Her aunt did everything a mother would do - she watched her get on the school bus every day and was waiting for her by the door when it dropped her off every weekday afternoon.

Jessie had the dreams of most 11-year-old-girls and had ambitions of being a professional horse rider. But those dreams would get overshadowed by something she could never have expected - motherhood.

Not Feeling Well

On a day that seemed ordinary, Jessie started feeling under the weather. She started vomiting, and a migraine soon followed. She had no idea what could have caused the pain. She went straight to her aunt to get help.

But her aunt took one look at her and dismissed it as the flu. But she had no idea what mistake she was making.

Ordinary School Day

After a few days off, Jessie finally felt right enough to go to school. She was sent on her way, and even though she still didn’t feel perfectly fine, she knew that she that her education was important.

The school day was difficult, but she got through it and then took the bus home. She got back home and lay down in bed. She didn’t feel like eating, but she had no idea that by the next morning, everything would be different.

Morning Not Like Any Other

Jessie woke up at 6 A.M. She liked to get an early start on her day when she could, not that it happened as often as she’d like. But with the school bus arriving at 7:30, she wanted time to wake up and get ready.

But she had no idea that the morning she was about to have would be unlike any other she had ever experienced. And it would end with a new life coming into the house.

In Labor

Just as Jessie got dressed, she heard her aunt screaming from her bedroom. She ran in and saw something she had never expected. Her aunt was in labor. She had been pregnant for the last nine months and had never made a big deal of it. Saying that she was strong.

But she knew that she would need help now. She was the only person in the house, and she looked too far along to go to the hospital now. Jessie knew there was no going back.

Delivering The Baby

Jessie felt her whole world spinning. She couldn’t believe the reality that she was living. She couldn’t believe that she would have to deliver a baby at the age of eleven. Her aunt reassured her that she would be fine.

After all, she needed her help, no one else was in the house, and the baby seemed to want to come out a lot sooner than expected. Jessie knew what she had to do.

Being Brave

Her stomach tightened into a knot, she was nervous, but with the support of her aunt, she knew she would be okay. It would be delivered from home, and she would be the one delivering the baby.

She had to be brave. She had never experienced anything like this before in her life, but it would all be okay afterward. It would take an hour or so of courage, and then it would all be over. And she would welcome a new face into the world.

Newborn

Jessie felt her hands shake as she held the baby in her arms. She had just delivered this beautiful baby into the world. Her aunt lay next to her, and the two of them smiled at the glow of the child.

It would be a day of many firsts. And for Jessie Corgan, the 11-year-old would know for the first time what it would be like to be called a mother.

Jude

The newborn clumsily grasped out with his infant hands. Their heart’s melted as he grabbed Jessie’s finger in his small grasp. Her aunt softly said, “Jude, his name is Jude.”

She smiled. She knew how much her aunt loved The Beatles and the song “Hey Jude.” It only seemed appropriate that she’d name him after her favorite song. But what her aunt said next would change her life forever.

Godmother

Jessie’s aunt smiled at her and told her the good news, that she would be the baby’s godmother. Jessie’s eyes teared up. Her aunt was the only family she knew, and now to not only have a new family but be their godmother too.

Jessie was speechless. She had always wanted a baby brother, and now it was more than that. She would make sure to help her aunt look after him whenever she could.

School Bus

Just as Jessie got lost daydreaming about her new family member, her aunt snapped her out of it. “The school bus is going to be here any minute!” Jessie looked down at her clothing and knew she needed a change of clothes.

After 10 minutes, Jessie was ready and awaiting the school bus outside, Jude on her mind the whole time.

In Time For School

The bus arrived, and Jessie hopped onto it. She looked at the children around her and felt a new perspective. They had no idea what she had just been through, and she felt different, more mature.

She sat down and looked through the window of the bus. She saw her aunt waving at her from her bedroom window. She couldn’t believe what she had just accomplished, all in time to catch the bus. She was now a godmother, and she’d never live it down.
