Woman Posts a Photo of a Kitten Only to Realize Her Big Mistake

Jill Hicks immediately stopped her car when she saw a tiny animal running down the side of the road. It was dangerously close to the vehicles on the highway. Being a huge family lover, she decided to rescue it.

Little did she know how much she was going to regret this decision.

What Was It?

Jill couldn't tell at first what kind of animal it was. Was it a bunny? Or a hamster? She got out of her car and ran as fast as she could to help it.

When she got closer to the animal, she realized it was actually a kitten! She picked it up from the ground and texted her friend to let her know she would be late for their meeting. When Jill put the kitten in the back of her vehicle, she noticed something about it that made her extremely anxious.

Not Happy

The animal began to make it clear that it wasn't happy to be in Jill's car. It was running all over the car and trying to get out.

Jill, who initially wanted to keep the kitten, began to have doubts whether it would get along with her three other pets at home. What if it would attack them?

At Home

When Jill brought the new kitten home, she put it in her garage, which was separate from her house. She was taking no risks. Her dog, however, immediately sensed that something wasn't right. He ran straight up to the kitten and started barking at it.

The animal started to hiss, and Jill had to grab her to keep her safe. That's when the unexpected happened.

Not Getting Along

The animal slashed Jill's face as she tried to escape. The kitten then jumped onto Jill's desk, where she studied for her Doctorate in animal behavior and had her thesis sitting on the desk.

“NO NO NO NO!” she screamed as she tried to remove the kitten from her desk. She was to hand her freshly bound theses the following morning, which was the final deadline. What happened next made her hair stand on end.

Catastrophe

Jill stood there powerless, watching the kitten destroy her thesis. Now, she was going to fail her entire doctorate! She was furious.

She blamed herself because of her stupid kind heart. But what she discovered next was something she would never have expected.

Enough Is Enough

Jill decided enough was enough. She didn't want to keep the kitten anymore. It had ruined her entire night. To make matters even worse, her best friend Jan was angry with her for canceling the dinner plans.

She sent Jill a text saying, “Ur such a bad friend; I bet u wish I was a kitten, Jill, well, guess what, kittens won’t hold your hair back as u throw up while crying about ur breakup with Damien!!!”

An Apology

Jill felt terrible for ditching her best friend. She sent a photo of the kitten to Jan, saying, “I’m sorry gal, I just can’t say no 2 that face.”

Fortunately for Jill, her best friend was an accomplished wildlife observer. She noticed right away something odd about Jill's new pet.

A Bobcat

Jan told her friend to post the kitten's photo in a specialist wildlife group on Facebook to get a second opinion. The feedback she received would turn her life upside down.

It turns out that the kitten Jill had brought home that day was no ordinary stray cat. It was a baby bobcat! One of the Facebook group members suggested a wildlife sanctuary that dealt with wild animals like bobcats.

At The Sanctuary

Jill contacted the sanctuary, telling her to come in with the kitten immediately. Within half an hour, she was there with the baby bobcat.

The staff confirmed that it was indeed a bobcat and thanked Jill for rescuing it. Then, Jill said goodbye to the workers at the sanctuary and ran home to try to save her doctorate.

Completely Destroyed

When she got home, she inspected her thesis one last time. The bobcat had totally destroyed it. There was no way she could fix it in one night. She felt tears rolling down her face as she looked through the torn pieces of her thesis.

She googled doctorate binding place and found one that was opened at 9 am next to her college.

In A Rush

The next morning, Jill arrived there at 9 AM, and the clerk told her she had to wait for forty-five minutes. So when she finally got her thesis, she ran to the college as fast as she could, hoping it wasn't too late.

Her fate would be decided in mere minutes.

She Made It

Jill managed to hand in the doctorate at the very last minute. “I thought you wouldn’t make it!” her lecturer said.

"What a stupid woman," thought Jill. Despite handing in her soft copy more than two weeks ago, her professor insisted that it was both soft and hard copy to be in on time or she wouldn't graduate.

Celebration

Jill left the college and finally met up with her best friend to celebrate saving a baby bobcat that nearly ruined her career as well as her newfound freedom.

When Jan saw her friend, she burst into laughter.

In Shock

"I thought this only happens in movies!" Jan exclaimed. "I can't believe you picked up a bobcat thinking it was just an ordinary cat."

"I can't believe it either," Jill laughed. "I'll never forget this day." The two friends then headed to their favorite restaurant and spent the evening laughing about this silly story.
