Woman Called Police On Her 3-Year-Old Daughter After Seeing What She Did In Backseat Of Car

This Arizona mom knew her daughter was no angel, but she could've never imagined that she was capable of something like this.

When she realized what her daughter was doing in the backseat of her car, she immediately dialed 911.

In The Car

One day, while Michelle was driving, her children started yelling at each other and throwing toys. This wasn't the first time they misbehaved, so she didn't think much of it at first.

After several minutes, she looked in the rear-view mirror of her car but couldn't understand what was going on.

She Wasn't Listening To Her

Then, her son shouted: "Mommy! Mommy! She unbuckled her seatbelt!" He was talking about his younger sister Camille.

Michelle immediately pulled over and explained to her that what she did was dangerous. Camille kept laughing and unbuckling her seatbelt, and Michelle was losing her patience.

She Called Police

Michelle couldn't handle her daughter anymore and was desperate for her. So, she took out her cellphone and made a call.

She called the Scottsdale Police Department and told them about her daughter. She hoped the officers would take her call seriously and help her out. Little did she know what was about to happen.

The Police Arrived

After about an hour, Michelle heard her doorbell ring. Two officers from the Scottsdale Police Department wanted to speak to her daughter.

When they saw how young she was, their jaws nearly dropped to the floor. They couldn't believe she called the police on her own daughter. After all, she was just a little girl. Did Michelle regret her decision?

They Had A Chat With Her

They asked the girl to come out of the car so they could have a quick chat with her. They were concerned that she didn't want to wear her seatbelt while driving in the car.

The officers explained to Camille that she could've died if another car had crashed into Michelle's car. The little girl was terrified as she listened to the officers. Was involving the authorities even worth it?

She Broke The Law

The officers also told Camille that she was breaking the law by not wearing the seatbelt in the car and could face legal consequences for her actions.

It was then that Camille finally accepted her fault and said something Michelle would never forget.

She Made A Promise

"I will always wear a seat belt, and I won't take it off until the car stops, and my mother says it is okay to take it off," Camille said.

The little girl understood that what she did was wrong and promised to never take her seatbelt off again. But did she keep her promise?

Michelle Believes She Did The Right Thing

"There might be people who are going to think I took the situation to the extreme. However, I believe it was a teaching moment," Michelle said.

She believes she did the right thing by getting the police involved. But what did the officers think of her decision?

They Were Happy To Help

The police officers were happy to help her teach Camille a valuable lesson. Now she will never take her seatbelt off again. At least they hope so.

According to the officers, Michelle might've saved her daughter's life by making this call.

They Hope She Will Never Do It Again

If Camille didn't learn the importance of the seatbelt, she could've gotten injured or killed in a car accident.

Michelle and the officers hoped Camille would never take her seatbelt off again. And what her daughter told her brought her some relief.

They Were Invited For An Interview

Camille understood the big mistake she had made and promised her mother to never take the seatbelt off without her permission.

They were later interviewed by Good Morning America and Inside Edition about the incident.

They Were Glad She Called Them

The two officers who talked to Camille were also invited for an interview.

The officers hope that other children will follow their advice as well. But what they said next was even more touching.

They Saved Her Life

"Accidents can happen in a split second. If the child is not wearing a seatbelt, the results can be tragic," the officers said. They claimed Michelle had done the right thing by getting them involved.

Who knows what would've happened to Camille if her brother didn't tell Michelle that she wasn't wearing her seatbelt.

You Can't Rely On Other Drivers

You can never rely on anyone else on the road, no matter how experienced you think you are.

That's why wearing a seatbelt is so important.
