Most celebrities take home a tidy amount of money. They normally spend it on things like yachts, mansions, or private jets. With those expensive items being the norm, some celebrities have spent money on even more unnecessary things.
From exotic animals and hair extensions to even dinosaur skulls! Here are some celebs that spent a whole lot of money on things that they really didn’t need.
Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson is one of the most influential and well-known boxers of all time. The now-retired boxer famously bit a piece of Evander Holyfield’s ear off in 1997. But he’s done a lot with the wealth he got through his career.
Tyson decided that normal domestic animals weren’t for him. He decided to get something a little more exotic - two white Bengel tigers costing him R150,000.
Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage has been starring in movies for longer than a lot of people can remember. The experienced actor has made a lot of money throughout the height of his career. But he’s spent his money on questionable things.
Cage figured that he wanted some decor that no one else would have. He spent $276,000 on a T-rex skull! The saddest part is that he had to give it back.
Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus has shown everyone that she’s a multitalented star in her own right. She originally starred in her own show on Disney as an adolescent before moving on to a successful singing career.
But Miley’s one of the celebrities that’s spent a lot of money on seemingly unnecessary things. She’s bought and used pricey hair extensions. We’ll admit, they at least look good, but at $24,000 we’re not sure if it’s worth it.

Beyonce has been an actor, singer, and songwriter. She rose to fame as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child before going on to a solo career. But she’s committed the same sin that every celeb is guilty of.
She’s spent a whole lot of money on something that she probably only wore a handful of times, gold leggings. Is $100,000 really worth the extra bit of glamor? Only Beyonce can say.
Donald Trump
Donald Trump needs no introduction. The tycoon and now former president of the United States of America has a lot of wealth, so no wonder he’s spent a lot of it on things that no one really needs.
Trump not only has a private jet which in itself isn’t entirely necessary. But the jet’s fixtures are 24 karat gold, specifically the faucets, sinks, and seatbelts.

Tom Cruise is an A-list American celebrity. He does all his own stunts and is known for being the star of the Mission Impossible franchise. He bought a piece of medical equipment that some can argue he didn’t need.
When Cruise's wife, Katie Holmes, was pregnant with his child, he decided that he needed to check up on the baby in the comfort of their own home. Specifically a Sonogram at a whopping $200,000.
Bono
Bono is one of the few celebs that have a mononym. He’s professionally just known as Bono, nothing else. But the famous member of U2 has paid for some pretty questionable things.
The singer bought two tickets for a flight. Not too ridiculous, right? But wait until you hear what took the second seat next to him. It was his hat, can you believe he paid $1,700 for a seat for his hat?

Michael Dwayne Vick is an ex-American Football player. He is recognized as changing the way the quarterback position was played. He had a much more aggressive style when he played the position.
