Woman Accidentally Discovers Coke's Hidden Use, She Never Drinks It Again

Coke is one of the world’s most common refreshing drinks. It’s consumed everywhere in the world with passion. Yet, apart from being a tasty side to a nice meal, it also has other uses. However, this woman would have never imagined them.

Coke brands are usually the best-selling carbonated drink companies. Through immense brand power, they manage to promote their products everywhere in the world. But how did they start off and why are people worried by their alternative uses? Let's find out.

In reality, these brands are very old. Coca-Cola was invented by a pharmacist named John Pemberton, in 1886.

It was actually derived from an alcoholic beverage, “Vin Mariani”. Pemberton, however, had other plans…

John Pemberton developed his “French Wine Coca”. After his state of Atlanta banned alcohol products in 1886, he replaced the wine in his recipe with sugar syrup.

His new product was branded “Coca-Cola”.

Initially, Coca-Cola was a very strong product that had to be diluted with water and was sold in jugs. After years, carbonated water was added to the sugary syrup, giving the classic taste to the popular soda we know today.

This, however, would lead to some unexpected consequences…

As you’ve probably heard, Coca-Cola can be used in many unorthodox ways. For example, many say that it can help against jellyfish stings, stomach pains and even rust.

That’s what this woman had heard when she had this crazy idea…

When Anna was relaxing from work one day, an article about the uses of coke got her attention.

She was just reading it for fun at the time, but she soon would find a shocking use for it…

Anna was a young woman, living together with her boyfriend, James for some months now. They were happy together and they were both working in the mornings.

This one day, however, James had taken the day off. He had no idea what was coming…

The couple had agreed that they wouldn’t call each other while they work, so that they can focus on their job.

You can imagine how Anna felt when she got a call and a text reading “EMERGENCY” from her boyfriend…

They were together for more than a year now and he never had done this before. What could be the reason for this?

She rushed to the breaktime room and called him back. She wasn’t ready for what he’d tell her…

James told her there was a problem in the house that required her attention immediately. You see, Anna had been living in this flat before James moved in and she’d know what to do.

Or so he thought…

Apparently, there was an emergency regarding the toilet. James had already noticed some problems in the toilet bowl, and he was afraid of potentially causing permanent damage on it by attempting to fix them.

What could Anna do?...

Anna agreed to inspect it once she got home from her job. She would get a cleaning agent from the market on her way home and see what she could do.

But she was unfortunate…

Unfortunately for them, the local market was closed and thus she couldn’t get anything to help with the situation. But she decided to inspect it first anyway.

What could it be that was so serious?

Anna got home and James showed her the problem. It looked like rust, which was certainly problematic, but was it really that big of an emergency?

Little did she know it was something worse…

Apparently, it wasn’t rust but some kind of dirt that they were unable to clean using normal methods. That was definitely unhygienic for them and required a quick solution.

Yet they had no powerful cleaning agent. Or did they?

As the couple were brainstorming, trying to find a solution to this, Anna remembered something she was a reading a while ago, regarding coke.

But could this actually work?

James found it crazy that Coca-Cola could actually help them when everything else didn’t. But it’s not like they had any other option available.

They had to rush however…

Since the local market was closed, the couple went to a small restaurant to ask for a single bottle of Coca-Cola. You can imagine the surprise of the workers there seeing a couple rushing in the restaurant to buy such a thing.

They had no idea what was happening…

They got back home and while they were very doubtful this would work; they were also hopeful.

Otherwise, they’d have to pay for a plumber, if there was one available at the time…

Anna told James to start recording it. If it worked, it would become an instant viral, she thought.

Did anyone say, “two birds with one stone”?

As she poured in the coke, it seemed as if it wouldn’t go down. Did she clog the bowl?

She had no idea yet it was clear something was going on, judging by the sound…

After a minute or so, the Coca-Cola was finally drained and to their huge surprise, everything was clean!

How could it be that other solutions failed yet this one worked?

While they were both happy that it worked, they were also afraid. After all, they were both drinking coke drinks regularly.

Was it dangerous after all?

Regardless of their concerns, Anna decided to upload the video and raise awareness about this issue.

Who knows, maybe someone would come to the same situation and would benefit from this…

Anna and James’ video became an instant hit. To date, the video has gathered more than 11 million views on YouTube.

Commenters were conflicted, however…

Anna was quite critical of the product she used in her video. That started a debate among commenters on whether she was right to be that concerned.

Some were quite passionate about this…

Some were supportive of her concerns. “Thanks!

I'll use it for cleaning my toilet” said one commenter. “Thanks for sharing this” said another.

Many however were critical. “Why would we take health advice from someone that doesn't clean her toilet?” said one of them while another stated: “Coca -cola isn't bad for your body.

Your insides can handle much worse than that… the shockingly amazing part of being human”.

Most commenters, however, were joking about it. "If this cleans a toilet, imagine what nasty things it's doing in your body.” Well, I'd assume its cleaning my body.

Which is a win in my book” said one joking YouTuber.

Whatever the truth may be, it’s still interesting to see how a very common product can be used in a variety of different ways to solve everyday problems.
