22 Things You Probably Didn't Know About CEO Billionaire, Mark Zuckerberg

1. He Almost Worked For Microsoft

Mark Zuckerberg is one of the most recognizable CEOS in the world, and what he has achieved at such a young age is truly amazing. You may have learned a bit about the creation of Facebook through the movie, 'The Social Network', or you may have heard some not so pleasant things recently on the news.

Nonetheless, it’s important to remember that he’s still a human being with weird quirks and flaws, just like everyone else. Continue reading for some random facts you'd be surprised to find out about the infamous founder of Facebook.

When Zuckerberg was just a senior in high school, he co-created an app called Synapse Media Player, which was an MP3 player that kept track of the user’s favorite songs and made playlists based on their choices, which was essentially just like Spotify or Pandora we use today.

2. He Was Already Inventing Technology In Middle School.

Microsoft got ahold of the idea and sought to acquire the company and its founders, but Zuckerberg and co-creator Adam D’Angelo ended up turning the offer down and went on to found Quora, patenting the technology and went to college instead.

3. He Loves Pop Culture.

When Zuckerberg was just 12, he created an instant messaging program that he called "ZuckNet" so his father, who was a dentist could know when patients arrived.

4. He's Known For Being Quite The Cheapskate

One of his favorite books is The Aeneid, and one of his favorite shows is The West Wing, which was created by Aaron Sorkin, the man who also wrote the movie based on the creation of Facebook, The Social Network.

This can be kind of cliche because we all know nerds wear t-shirt, hoodies and jeans all the time, so we'll give you some more solid evidence. His wedding and honeymoon for example: the ring he gave his wife, Priscilla Chan, is a very averaged sized ruby with a diamond on each side; worth around $25,000. For someone of Zuckerberg's wealth (at least $66 billion), Chan should have been given a massive rock on that finger.

5. How He Chose The Color Scheme For Facebook

Can't forget he also served cheap Mexican eats at the reception,  and when they were honeymooning in Italy, they ate at McDonald's once, and didn't leave a tip when they dined at two more formal spots.

Believe it or not, Facebook’s logo is blue and white for aesthetics or psychological reasons, but because Zuckerberg has red-green color blindness.
