Who doesn't love the glamour and excitement that comes with a celebrity wedding? But sometimes this can be too much for some celebrity couples whether or not one of them is famous or both of them. 

Some of these marriages were over soon after they began. Here are 30 celebrity couples where their marriages couldn't last that long. Some of the couples were already divorced before their anniversary!

 Carmen Electra & Dennis Rodman — 9 Days

Dennis Rodman, an NBA star, and Carmen Electra, a famous actress, decided to get married in Las Vegas in 1998. It became one of the shortest marriages ever when the couple barely saw each other and lawyers got involved.

Just nine days after the wedding ceremony an annulment was filed. Even afterwards the couple did make appearances together but just 4 months later Electra filed for divorce.

 Ali Landry & Mario Lopez — 18 Days

When these two celebrities started dating we thought they looked like a perfect match. Both of them were young, attractive, and well-off. They got married in 2004 but soon it would all unravel.

Soon though Landry caught wind of rumors around her husband cheating on him and thus filed for an annulment only two weeks later. While he was at his bachelor party in Mexico he openly admitted that he cheated on his wife.

 Eminem & Kim Mathers — 2 Months (Their Second Marriage)

Eminem and Kim Mathers weren't married once but actually twice! They had a child together in 1995 and got married in 1999. The couple decided to get divorced in 2001.

The two tried to take another crack at it and got married again in 2006, only two months later the couple decided to get divorced yet again!

 Ethel Merman & Ernest Borgnine — 32 Days

Hollywood's no stranger to short-lived marriages. Here's an example from the '60s. In 1964 Ernest Borgnine, an award-winning actor, and Ethel Merman, a broadway star, got married.

But soon after their marriage, it was actually their honeymoon that might have spelled the end for their marriage. Borgnine said that he was very recognizable in Europe and Merman have her thoughts in her memoir - it was a blank page.

 Johnny Depp & Amber Heard — 15 Months

Here's a high-profile celebrity couple that didn't last very long. The two actors had natural chemistry on the set of Rum Diary in 2011 and by 2015 the two were married. 

Friends of the couple said that even before they got married there was plenty of drama. Heard filed a restraining order for "verbally and physically" assaulting her on May 27, 2016. The two were divorced in January of 2017.

 Fred Armisen & Elisabeth Moss — 8 Months

These two actors met in 2009 when they were both on Saturday Night Live. The two fell in love soon afterward SNL actor Fred Armisen and Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss were married in 2009

But less than a year later the couple decided to end the marriage. On the Howard Stern Radio show admitted that he wasn't ready for a long-term relationship and didn't want to be tied down.

Cher is a very well known-actress and when she got married some people say that the couple was doomed from the very start. She got married to Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band only three days after she divorced Sonny Bono.

After nine days of being the wife of Gregg Allman. The couple were on and off for a few years and even had a child together that they named Elijah.

 Drew Barrymore & Tom Green — 163 Days

Here's a power couple from the past that got together in 2000 everyone remembers because of the rumors that swirled before the couple finally got married in 2001. They pretended to be a married couple longer than their marriage actually lasted.

Only five months after the couple got married. Green decided to file for divorce stating that there were "irreconcilable differences."

Milli Jovovich married Shawn Andrew at the age of just 16-years-old.  She wanted to prove how grown up she was.

It only took three months for the couple to decide to split. Presley told People, “I’m sad about this, but we shouldn’t have been married in the first place.”

The reality star and entrepreneur apparently had reservations about marrying her second husband, NBA player Kris Humphries, on Aug. 20, 2011, but decided to go through with it because she was worried that people would think she “just did it for the show [‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’].”

She couldn’t hold out for long, though. Kardashian filed for divorce on Oct. 31, 2011. She went on to marry rapper Kanye West in 2014.

Sadly, the celebrities’ marriage didn’t even last a full year, with Holly filing for divorce in July 1997.

Singer Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand married in India in October 2010, but their conflicting schedules made keeping the relationship up difficult. The world got to watch this doomed marriage unfold on the big screen in her documentary “Part of Me.”

Perry claims Brand texted her in December 2011 to tell her he was filing for a divorce. The marriage was so short that Ellen DeGeneres infamously forgot Perry had been married at all when the singer appeared on her show in 2017!

This celebrity pair whisked off to Bora Bora and had an intimate wedding ceremony on Jan. 1, 2008. During the honeymoon, the couple allegedly spent more time arguing than cuddling.

Actors Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito married quietly on Dec. 30, 2006. The couple liked to keep a low profile when it came to their relationship. But following the quick disintegration of their marriage, just four months later, the gloves came off.

In Esposito’s 2014 memoir, “Jennifer’s Way,” she wrote, “He was funny, smart, cocky, arrogant, and a master manipulator. I didn’t necessarily find him that attractive, but I figured that I could enjoy his sense of humor and nonsense for a while.” She’s since been coy as to whether that passage was about Cooper but many have speculated it is.

 Chad Michael Murray & Sophia Bush — 5 Months

Two “One Tree Hill” actors fell in love on set and got married on April 16, 2005. But the Hollywood magic didn’t last long in real life.

“We were two stupid kids who had no business being in a relationship in the first place,” Bush later told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live.” By September 2005, only five months into the marriage, she petitioned for an annulment.

 Aaliyah & R. Kelly — 6 Months

This is a case of a secret — and illegal — marriage! The couple met when Aaliyah sang for R. Kelly in Chicago in August 1994. At the time, he was 27 years old and she was only 14, according to ABC News. Somehow, the pair found a way to get married (the marriage license claimed the bride was 18). 

It didn’t take long for word to get out, and the illegal marriage was dissolved in February 1995. Sadly, Aaliyah died in a plane crash in the Bahamas in August 2001 at the age of 22.

 Nicky Hilton & Todd Meister — 85 Days

Twenty-year-old hotel heiress Nicky Hilton eloped with the 33-year-old businessman Todd Meister in Las Vegas on Aug. 15, 2004.

Apparently, the couple decided the wedding was too hasty and an annulment followed less than three months later. Oddly enough, Meister’s 2013 romance with his then-personal assistant was affected by emails he sent to his ex-wife.

 Jennifer Lopez & Cris Judd — 218 Days

Cris Judd was hired to be a dancer for Jennifer Lopez’s 2000 music video for “Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” He told Oprah Winfrey it was “love at first sight.” 

The feelings were mutual and they got married on Sept. 21, 2001. Judd called his marriage a “circus” thanks to the intrusive media attention. The couple divorced in June 2002.

 Shannen Doherty & Ashley Hamilton — 6 Months

After a two-week romance with 19-year-old Ashley Hamilton (son of actor George Hamilton), 22-year-old “Beverly Hills 90210” star Shannen Doherty married him in September 1993.

The courtship ended as quickly as it started, when Doherty filed for divorce in April 1994 citing “irreconcilable differences.”
