Unbelievable
As soon as he arrived he parked his vehicle soon as he could. He needed to to get in there, and he needed to do so urgently. He was struggling to comprehend what happened. How could his wife thing that wild animal was a dog?
He sprinted inside and what he saw made his stomach drop.
Perfect Couple
Roy and Abby were the ideal pair. People often envied the relationship they had with one another. However, everything wasn't as perfect as it seems.
Roy, on the other hand, had no idea that Abby would do something behind his back that would put his family's safety in jeopardy.
Children
Abby could not contain her happiness the day her twins, Keagan and Kaylee were born. However, as they got older Abby realized that she had a stronger bond with her son. She thought things would improve but they just did not.
Something important was absent in Abby's life. And she went to extreme measures to find the missing piece, even if her husband didn't know about it. However, when he found out the truth, all hell broke loose.
Dream Of A Dog
Abby always wanted a dog, however, her husband was against the idea. When their son was born things changed, due to the majority wanting the dog. Keagan and his mother both shared a fondness for a pet.
The family discussed the possibility but nothing was set in stone. Abby decided to take matters into her own hands.
The Usual
Roy got up at 6 am and ate a nutritious breakfast. He drove to work like he always did. This morning started out like all the other ones, there was nothing extraordinary about it.
He sang his favorite song on the way to his job, but if only he knew what awaited him when he got home from work. He definitely would not have been singing that morning.
Attachment
Roy was busy responding to some e-mails when he received a notification from his wife. She frequently messages him to send him sweet messages to keep his spirits up. The messages usually range from “Can’t wait for you to come home” and “See you soon!”
However, Roy was confused when he saw that the message had an attachment. His jaw dropped when he opened the image. He needed to act immediately before things got out of hand.
Frightened Animal
There was no doubt about it. His wife made a big mistake. Roy had to double-check the photo just to be sure. His wife texted that she found a frightened "dog" without any tags indicating ownership. She stated that it was destiny.
She was under the impression that this was the "dog" that she had always dreamed of, but she was blissfully unaware of what she was truly dealing with.
Dangerous
Abby had no clue that her son was seated to something more terrifying than a dog. The animal was dangerous and wild and Roy could not believe his wife did this.
He was frantically trying to warn her before the situation could escalate.
Preventative Measures
He packed up his stuff immediately and drove home. His mind could not keep quiet. That animal was no dog, Roy just knew it.
Roy almost broke about a dozen traffic laws trying to get home in time. He just hoped he could make it home in time, he would never forgive himself if something were to happen with his family.
Voicemail
Roy's heart was racing. Every time he tried to call Abby, her phone went straight to voicemail. As soon as he arrived home he stormed inside. He needed to help his family.
He could feel the sweat dripping down his forehead and his heart pounding in his chest. He let out a silent prayer to ensure that his family is safe. Roy could not adequately identify the animal from the picture, but he knew it was dangerous...
Destruction
Roy opened his front door and rushed inside. He immediately knew something was wrong. He look to the couch where he saw the animal in the photo and it was clear that it had been chewed on, he knew something like this would happen.
But where was the animal? And more importantly, where was his wife and child?
A Coyote!
Roy found his son and wife safe in the kitchen, it was clear to his wife now that she had made an expensive mistake letting the animal in. But what was it? Now that Roy saw it in person it was clear that it was a coyote.
He was just happy they all were safe.
The Coyote
The coyote was actually quite docile. Nevertheless, Roy called a wildlife sanctuary that could take the animal to a nicer place or back into the wild. Coyote’s love to scavenge and that can often have them coming into people’s homes looking for food.
They got their couch reupholstered so everything was as it was before the incident.
A lesson
There was one clear take away from the event. Roy’s family desperately wanted a dog and he wouldn’t wait around until they had another coyote in the house. He would take matters into his own hands before it got to that point.
He decided to take his family to a local animal shelter to find the perfect companion for his household.
Adopted
Once he found the perfect dog he took them home to meet his family as a surprise. He smiled at the joy he saw in his wife and his son’s eyes when he got home.
He was just happy that it wasn’t a wild animal ready to chew up anything in sight. Still, the dog even grew on him and he couldn’t have hoped for a happier ending.
