On paper, Anna and Patrick shouldn’t be having any problems conceiving. Both of them were healthy and with no previous medical issues. The doctor decided to run tests on both people but the results were discouraging.

Patrick’s sperm wasn’t viable, but before they could lose hope the doctor offered a solution. Patrick could go on medication which meant improving his body’s chance of getting Anna pregnant. This wasn’t how Anna envisioned having children and the conversation with the doctor reduced her to tears. Patrick tried his best to comfort his wife but he felt like a disappointment. The Stress Took Over

Patrick was emotionally drained from the medication and stressful process. He began to lose his temper with Anna. She realized she would need to support him through this process and after a couple of weeks gently brought up adoption again.

Visiting the orphanage for the first time was overwhelming. Anna held Patrick’s hand tightly as they walked through the doors. The building was full of children's voices and in the distance, she could hear babies crying.

The young boy’s name was Billy, and he was six years old. He had been brought into the orphanage after his mother passed away in a car accident. The more the couple spoke to Billy the more their minds began to change.
