Jonathan is a regular 45-year-old guy with a full-time job and a basic daily routine, nothing too interesting about his life.
What he didn’t know is that all this was about to change when he witnessed a shocking car accident that changed his life...
It was May 2, at around 2:45 PM when it happened, on route 90 at Ocean City Bridge. The road was not very busy at the time, and everything seemed to be normal.
But the worst accidents happen when you can’t even imagine they could happen. And that’s exactly what happened in this unusual case...
Jonathan was driving on the Ocean City Bridge, which is a road that he doesn’t really use. However, he actually had an emergency meeting to attend, so he had to drive through Route 90.
It turns out he happened to be at the right place at the right time. Not even in his wildest dreams would he ever imagine what he was about to experience before his meeting...
While he was driving with his favorite jazz playlist on, he witnessed something he had never seen before in his life; a horrible car crash between a big truck and a smaller car on the bridge.
He immediately knew that the situation was critical...
The truck was full of people, and so was the smaller car. But the car crash was so instant that drivers who were next to the two vehicles also got involved.
So, five vehicles in total were in big trouble...

The first thing Jonathan did was to call 991. After that, he tried to find the baby’s family, but he quickly realized that it didn’t matter at that point. All he needed to do was to help the poor toddler.
But how was he supposed to do that? Well, it turns out he had the perfect solution in mind...
A whole team of police officers, firefighters, medicals, paramedics, and boaters was on their way, but something had to be done immediately. Jonathan was broken by hearing the poor baby crying while being helpless.
She was just two years old and could not help herself...
One of Jonathan’s most remarkable qualities is his sense of empathy. Of course, he had to do something to save the baby, and that’s what he was about to do.

Every single people that witnessed what Jonathan did was left speechless. He literally risked his own life to make sure this little baby was not going to get hurt. Finally, the baby’s family got their daughter in their hands, both with tears in their eyes.
After that Jonathan just wanted to leave without saying a thing. The reason why is unbelievable...
Jonathan saved this baby because of his huge heart. He didn’t even want to mention his name when the baby’s parents asked him, proving that he is a deeply humble person.
However, these parents did not take this heroic act for granted...
He saved a young kid’s life, and that’s huge. The parents didn’t want Jonathan to be unrecognizable, even though he was pretty humble about what he did. “I’m glad that we now have a face with the name.
I really appreciate you. You’re a hero among us.”, they said.
For Jonathan, what he did was not all on him. He gave credits and thanked the local policemen, firefighters, and paramedics, who also helped after getting the baby out of the water.
‘It was team effort’, he said.
Members of the Ocean City fire and police departments, Maryland State Police, and Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan approached Jonathan Bauer to show their respect.
The family believed that Jonathan was the baby’s guard angel, so they really wanted to keep in touch with this amazing man after the incident.
And so they did; Jonathan actually developed a great relationship with the toddler and gained a bunch of new friends, including the baby’s family!
It turns out that not all heroes wear capes. Some of them are among us, and we don’t even know it.
Jonathan is a great man, and he hopes that this baby will grow out to be a good person, too.
The incident went viral, and people on social media were amazed by Jonathan’s heroic act.
Not only did he stop in the middle of the road to see what happened but he also jumped into the water when he had an important meeting to attend.
Jumping down 25 to 30 feet into open water is a big deal, especially when you do it for someone you don’t even know.
It is something that not many people would actually do for a stranger.
Jonathan went from being a regular businessman to a local hero, appreciated by hundreds of people.
The Ocean City Fire Department honored him and made sure this man was about to get the recognition he deserved.
