People Share Their Darkest Secrets

Do you have any secrets that have been sitting heavily on your chest? Many people do and who else better to share them with other than strangers on the internet that don’t know your true identity? Today we are going to show you some jaw-dropping secrets that people have been hiding from the world until now. A Reddit thread was recently started with the question: “What’s your secret that could literally ruin your life if it came out?” and we have gathered the most interesting answers to share with you.

If there is one thing that everyone should know is that they should be nice to their office IT guy. A system admin revealed in the Reddit thread that he a “treasure trove of my coworker’s secrets”. He knows who has financial problems, who is cheating on their spouses and many more other interesting things.

A man revealed that he built a hidden 800 square feet bunker beneath his home and that he “forgot” to tell the new buyers about it. The entrance to the bunker is well hidden and still comes to visit from time to time.

Isn’t this a little bit creepy?

“I found my friend’s diary, and proceeded to read the entire thing. I used this information to get her to like me, and she is currently my wife,” commented a Redditor.

Now, this is a secret that could ruin the man’s life! His wife would never trust him again if she found out.

“I am basically living a lie,” said a Redditor. “I told my entire family I was able to transfer out of community college and into a university, but I never finished up the requirements.

So since I live at home, every day instead of going to school I go to the local library and bs. My lies are so extensive, I even go to the campus and meet my girlfriend for lunch sometimes,” added the Redditor.

“I have been pretending to be colorblind to everyone I have ever known, including my own parents since I was in 3rd grade. I am now 28 years old.

I even convinced an optometrist of it,” commented a man on the Reddit thread. This is some serious dedication, don’t you think so?

Talking about colorblind people, here we have a Redditor who works in advertising that is actually suffering from this issue. “My job is to ensure that every bit of computer-generated imagery is textured and lit in a way that matches how it would look in real life,” he explained.

“The funny thing is, I’m severely red-green colorblind.”

Some people are overachievers while others are looking for ways to slack off as much as they can. Here is what a Redditor had to say about his work productivity: “I discovered that, through an easy exploit, I could pick two or three items an hour and still hit ‘curve,’” he said.

That meant that, at the end of the day, his record would still look exemplary. “Because everyone there is an idiot, they never questioned it, and I was eventually promoted.”

A Redditor spent most of his college time writing papers and thesis for CEOs from all over the US. “I paid off some friends’ debt with it, too.

There are several people who work for Fortune 500 companies that only have their degrees because of me. There are three millionaires that wouldn’t exist had I not written their theses.”

A Redditor who is running a wedding cake business has decided to reveal the biggest secret about his business: “I run a cake business,” wrote the Redditor. “I charge people hundreds for wedding cakes.

Every last one is made using Pillsbury cake mix I buy for $1 a box at Walmart. I suck at baking.”

Just like in a previous post, another Redditor lied to his family about going to college. However, the lengths that he went to are nearly extreme. Check out what he had to say: “I faked it all. Lied to everyone.

Made up fake transcripts. I just got my foot in the door in my desired field thanks to a friend, as they hired me as a subordinate. This place only hires college grads, but no one double-checked my credentials since I was recommended.”

“I cut off all contact with everyone I know and moved to Kenya, I tell people a fake name and a fake background and have made it appear to my family that I died on boat trip in the Pacific. No I am not joking.

I am dead in the United States,” said a Redditor who has been lying to his family for years.

“Everyone thinks I have a good job and roommates, but I’ve been homeless and a prostitute for over year,” added a woman on the Reddit thread.

Keeping up appearances must be difficult for her.

“I still have ‘imaginary friends.’ I’m almost 30,” said another Redditor who has been hiding this secret for as long as he can remember.

A Redditor is remembering how when he was young he caught his dad cheating on his mother and instead of coming clean, he decided to blackmail the father.

He has been doing this for more than six years!

“I just lost 60% of my family’s money. I’m in shock. It was on a stock called ziopharm (ziop). Didn’t expect them to release results so early, planned on selling out before they did.

It wasn’t greed about holding through results I just didn’t think they would release so early. This is money I can afford to lose but it hurts. My wife knows about my trading but what do I tell her? Tell myself?” Gambling is never a good idea.

“I wake up at 7:30, shower, put on khakis and a nice shirt and shoes and go somewhere they won’t find me and just write or browse or game all day, then go home,” said a Redditor who has been lying to his parents that he is working a part-time job.

“My boyfriend and I have been together for almost a year and I love him with all my heart. He’s very against cheating and we would never EVER cheat on each other.

He’s made it clear that he’d never date a cheater. If he ever found out that I cheated on my last boyfriend, our relationship would be over,” commented a concerned girlfriend.

“I am pretty deeply unhappy. I don’t think anyone in my circle of friends/family knows this.

I feel like I live a life of quiet desperation.” Living a life in secret is never good for your mental health!

“I don’t have any true friends. I have people like me and people that are chill with me but I have never had that connection of a best friend,” commented a Redditor.

Not having any real friends must hurt.

“I’m leaving my emotionally abusive boyfriend after he leaves for work today.

I am scared but I finally feel enough is enough,” commented a girlfriend who got tired of all her boyfriend’s abuse.
