When actors Mila Kunis first met Ashton Kutcher, sparks, as they say, didn’t spark. In fact, their meeting didn’t even register on anyone’s radar, much less was there a media frenzy. Kunis admits that she wasn’t the least bit interested in her 19-year-old co-actor.
And she certainly didn’t think that her first on-set kiss would be with her future husband. In fact, she admitted to shock jock Howard Stern that the first kiss she would share with her future husband was very awkward. To understand the dynamics of the Mila/Kutcher relationship you have to step back, way back, to 1998.
Back then nobody had ever heard of That 70s Show, probably because the two people who made it great—Mila and Kutcher—hadn’t made their mark yet.
It has to be understood, first of all, that in real life Mila wasn’t quite 14 years old, and Kutcher was about 20, and since their relationship was entirely platonic at the time, it felt a little weird pretending that their relationship was anything but, well, platonic.
Kutcher admits that kissing Mila was a lot like kissing his sister, or maybe even weirder than that. Despite that, he cared about her.
Regardless, six years of friendship later, they finally tied the knot.
Today, Mila admits that she has the greatest husband alive.
Oddly enough, the couple’s relationship started much like that on one of their movies, No Strings Attached (Ashton) and Friends With Benefits (Mila).
They both admit to having lived out their movies, including having issues with relationships in between theirs.
Before they got together, Ashton spent many years with Demi Moore.
The two were a Hollywood power couple that showed people that age was just a number. It seemed like Ashton may have found his one, but that was not meant to be.
While they were together for a few years, their marriages ended in divorce, giving way for Ashton to find his way to Mila.
But Mila was also busy with someone else...
This includes, most notably, Macaulay Culkin for Mila for eight years, and January Jones for Ashton.
Ashton married Demi Moore, but that ended in anything but a fairy tale marriage.
Everything went along swimmingly until the former lovebirds broke up with their respective partners. Then, one day, the started to text each other. “Hey!” one would start.
To which, “How’s life?” the other would reply. Then Ashton bumped into Mila in an elevator at an awards show, and as far as Mila was concerned, sparks flew.
One night, Ashton hosted a housewarming party, to which he invited his old pal Mila. Ashton, a smoker at the time, kept breathing smoke in the diction of Mila, who was trying to quit.
Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on who you ask, the smoke started to appeal to Mila, who started getting closer and closer in her effort to enjoy the smoke. Then things got steamy.
After this encounter, it didn’t take long before the mutual physical attraction became something more.
At first, Mila admits that she just wanted to kiss a Calvin Klein model. On Ashton’s side, things were also heating up until he admitted to himself that he had a very important woman.
Ashton showed up the next day at Mila’s home, realizing that something had to be done about his feelings. “Move in with me!” Ashton announced. “Yes.
Yes. Yes.”: she replied. Their only regret was that they had missed out on the past 20 years without each other.
In October 2014, the couple married and welcomed a baby daughter to the mix.
Even though the wedding was held in Los Angeles, the couple posted pictures of themselves on social media in different area locations to throw paparazzi off the track of where the ceremony was held.
Before she admits that she now has what she calls a “whimsical” relationship, she admits that she never did want to get married. She told W Magazine, “I never wanted to get married. From the age of 12 I prepared my parents for no marriage.
Then things changed,” she said. “I found the love of my life.”
The same feeling did not extend through to their honeymoon.
On The Today Show, Mila admitted to Jimmy Fallon that her honeymoon was a disaster. Since Mila bought Ashton an RV for his birthday, nothing could have been better than a traveling honeymoon…along with their family.
It didn’t take long on the road, however, before the air conditioning broke down. Then, once it was fixed, Apple Maps sent them on a wild goose chase up the side of a mountain on a fire road.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, remember that this was only day two of the adventure. “We almost died by the side of the road,” Mila confides.
“My wonderful, beautiful mother in law picked the RV parks that we were staying in, but she didn’t use the internet. She used, uh, books. She’s like, ‘We’ll end up in Napa, it‘ll be beautiful!” Needless to say, the group soon found themselves at an RV park a few miles outside of Napa, in between two prisons.
That trip was soon over.
Mila likes to tell people that despite the fact that Ashton failed his first job as a navigator, he is still a great guy, not to mention smart too! This is, of course, not mentioning the fact that when he was in college he was a biomedical engineering major, even though he did later drop out to pursue his acting career. This is a good thing since he loves the movies, and is even attracted to everything techy.

What would a gushy fan article be without a few interesting tidbits about the subject of the story? It so happens that Ashton Kutcher has a twin brother who was born with a mild case of cerebral palsy. He also majored in biomedical engineering in the hopes of helping to find a cure for his brother’s condition. And despite a dreamy name like Ashton, his real name is Chris, but he changed it after he joined an agency who already had another actor by that name.
Wanna know something else fun about him? He had webbed toes.
Besides having webbed toes Kutcher also has an abiding interest in subjects such as the ancient mystical Hebrew text, the Kabbala. This is a subject that Ashton is tight-lipped about, but he is said to often enthrall his friends with his knowledge of the text.
Ashton isn’t the only one who has interesting aspects of his life. Mila also has a story or two to tell about her passions. She was originally born in the Ukraine, but immigrated to the United States in 1991.
Kunis, who was raised with a Jewish background, was only seven when her family moved to America. Not only that, but her entire family had less than $250 between them when they arrived. When she was a child, her grandmother would escort her to school, with a bag of candy, in an effort to help her make friends.
Don’t let Mila’s seeming innocence fool you. While working on That 70s Show, Mila and an accomplice sold knock-off t-shirts to make extra money. The pair would buy cheap t-shirts and tank tops, iron on N’SYNC and Backstreet Boys prints, and sell them on eBay.
Mila admits that she didn’t ever make any money from the venture, however, since she gave all the profits to her co-conspirator, Julie.
Only if you live under a rock would you not know that the relationship between Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher has been around and healthy for some time. Yes, they are very much a Hollywood couple.
Unfortunately, there is one important person to the relationship who isn’t quite so sure about its endurance, Mila’s mother.
“I told my mom that I was seeing him,”Mila said. “We were driving up Laurel Canyon and I was like, ‘Mom, I have to tell you, I’m dating somebody.’ And she was like, Oh, tell me! And I was like, ‘You’ve got to brace yourself for this one. I’m dating Ashton Kutcher.’ And she literally said, ‘Shut the f**k up!
In Russian. I was like ‘No, I’m serious. I also may be in love with him.’’’
Becoming a married couple did carry with it certain boundaries.
Despite being very much in love, they decided that their working together days were over. Mila explains by saying that she can’t imagine acting in a scene with her husband.
Another subject that is truly off-limit to the couple is that of money for their family.
Despite bringing in millions of dollars every year, they both admit that they refuse to leave their children any money for after they are gone, calling their children “already over privileged.” Instead, they want their children to grow up self-sufficient and independent individuals
Another boundary that the couple refuse to cross is Christmas presents, which they won’t give to their children, something they admit is very unconventional. Mila told Entertainment Tonight that they had a rule for their children, Wyatt and Dimitri.
Not to be regarded as bad parents, but they say they have their reasons.
This does not prohibit their parents from being grandparents, after all, since they can give gifts to their grandchildren…one present a piece.
