Man Cuts Down Tree, Finds A Surprise Inside

Ryan Saunders was working on a new project in his yard when he decided to cut one of his trees for wood.

He had no idea that something was hidden inside the bark as he was cutting the tree in half.

He Found Something Strange Inside

While cutting the tree in half, Ryan noticed something unusual inside the bark. He took out his phone to record the strange finding because he was so confused by what he had discovered.

The object he saw inside the bark was something he had never seen before.

Something Was Moving Inside

Ryan's video starts off with him cutting the tree in half. Then, suddenly, he saw something moving inside the bark.

He was confused and didn't know what to do, so he stepped back and continued filming. What was it?

The Animal Was Hurt

Ryan started to freak out when the animal began making weird noises and moving in his direction.

He believed that it must have been some kind of a giant snake that he injured while cutting the tree. When the animal approached him, Ryan began screaming and shouting at it. Was it too late?

It Was Trying To Get Out

In the video, Ryan explained that the animal was trying to get out of the tree. A few minutes passed by and the creature was still barely moving, and no head was coming out.

Ryan then went around the tree to get a better look at the animal. And then, this happened...

He Had No Idea What It Was

In the video, Ryan explained that he thought the animal was dead because no head was coming out.

However, he kept recording in hopes of eventually identifying the creature.

He Shared The Video Online

He had no idea for how long the animal had lived in the tree. So, he posted the video online, hoping to get some answers.

And it wasn't long before YouTube users began reacting to his post.

A Tree Worm

One man called John Delay commented under Ryan's video, saying it was a worm. These worms feed on trees until they grow big enough to live comfortably in the forest.

However, he was wrong. The animal that Ryan encountered wasn't a tree worm. Instead, it was something much more dangerous.

A Pine Snake

Another person said that it was a rare type of snake called a pine snake. Pine snakes live underground and later go inside the tree to chew off the bark for food.

He also shared a photo of a full-grown pine snake, and it looked similar to the creature Ryan saw inside the tree.

It Got Stuck

This dog also got stuck in a tree and didn't get discovered for many years.

In 1980, the Kraft Corporation staff were cutting down a large tree and discovered the remains of a dog inside.

It Was In There For Years

The dog must have been stuck in this large old oak tree for years because it was mummified.

As soon as they realized what they were looking at, they brought the tree with the remains of a dog inside to the Forest World Tree Museum.

Stuckie

Since this had never happened before, the authorities had to investigate the matter and determine what kind of an animal it was.

The workers named the dog Stuckie because of his unfortunate fate.

20 Years

They believe that the dog got stuck while chasing some other animal. However, it was later determined that it got stuck in the tree in 1960.

Fast forward, 20 years later, its remains were discovered by the Craft Corporation staff.

The Sad Story Of Stuckie

When asked about Stuckie, the manager of the Forest World, Brady Stevenson, explained that the tree's ventilation helped eliminate the smell.

When people hear the story of how the animal ended up there, they feel sad that no one was there to help him out.

He Died Around Four Years Old

"I was amazed by him. Realizing what I know about forestry and trees, I understood how unique the circumstances had to be for Stuckie to be preserved," said Betha Dixon, the owner and director of Southern Forest World.

"He is a hound breed and appears to be some shade of brown with some white coloring, and died at around four years old, chasing a coon up a chestnut oak."
