The defamation court case involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is on everybody’s minds. Although ongoing, both parties have revealed many details as they fight tooth and nail to try and win the case.
Johnny Depp’s had a long and successful career and married Amber Heard in 2015 on his private island. The two were only married for a year before divorcing in 2016. But if either thought it ended there, it wouldn’t.
Suing For Defamation
Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for defamation of character to give more context. She op-ed an article with The Washington Post where she implicated Depp as a “domestic abuser.”
Depp has claimed that her claims are far from the truth and has decided to sue her for no less than $50 million. But Heard isn’t taking it lying down.
Counter Suing
Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp claiming that he is starting a “smear campaign” against her. The trail isn’t over yet, but many details are out.

Depp has been suffering because of Heard’s implications. The Sun posted an article in 2018 that implicated that he shouldn’t have been cast in JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindlewald.
Depp’s lawyers decided to get into a court battle. But they ended up losing the case the same hear due to “no evidence of the contrary.”
First Meeting
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard first met when they co-starred in 2009’s The Rum Diary. Depp remembers saying that he felt sparks in a scene where the two had to kiss. Both actors were with other people at the time.
They kept their relationship professional until they had to promote the film two years later. Shortly afterward, Depp and Heard were both single and were married by 2015.
16 Months Later
Only 16 months later, Heard filed for a restraining order and divorce. She has claimed that Depp was an abusive partner, which he refutes, which opened up the trial in 2022 after Depp’s first case was dismissed.
The two have had a prolonged court battle in the last few months with it being streamed directly to YouTube - the social media platform. But in the last two weeks, Heard has said something that blew the case wide open.

Kate Moss met Johnny Depp in 1994 at a bar in New York. The two started dating and were the hot couple of the 90s.
But things wouldn’t last forever, and the relationship was under a lot of strain in 1997. It fell apart when the two decided it would be best to break up.
Taking The Blame
Depp took the blame for things ending and said that he got too involved in his work at the time and didn’t give her the attention she needed.
Kate has said that the two have nothing against each other in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2012. But it wouldn’t be the last time Depp would hear Kate Moss’ name. Heard would see to that.

The trial has been publicly going on for a few weeks now, with Depp and Heard both lawyering up and bringing testimonies showing evidence for both sides.

The statement sounds like it should have been a mark against Depp. But the reaction that he and his lawyer, Ben Chew, had was surprising, with Ben fist-bumping his colleagues.
He excitedly whispered something into Depp’s ear. It was clear that they were happy, but why? What had put the shoe on the other foot?

Since the trial is still in full swing, people can only guess what Depp’s reaction meant until they cross-examine her. But there are many theories on why things are working in his favor.

Explanation
Most people have agreed on the same consensus. Experts have said that just mentioning Kate Moss was enough to cause the stir, not the story itself.
The ex-girlfriend’s name wasn’t something that should have been brought up. So far, Depp hasn’t brought her up because she hasn’t been relevant. But now, things are different.
A “Ban” List
Kate Moss’ name is thought to have been on a “ban” list, which means Heard wasn’t allowed to bring her up. Another explanation is even more wild and relevant than that.
