Today we have a heartwarming story to show you about a baby orangutan being reunited with his momma after spending one week apart. What many people don’t know is that mamma orangutans will often get aggressive if their babies are taken away for extensive periods of time and this is why the caretakers who are in charge of reuniting the orangutan family had to take a huge risk.
With that said, let’s go ahead and check out this amazing story which will show everyone that there’s nothing more powerful than a mother’s love. Our story beings at the Orangutan Jungle School. This is a special animal center where orangutans who are rescued from bad environments or bad people are taken to in order to live a healthy and stress-free life.
A female orangutan by the name of Clara had just given birth to an adorable baby. Unfortunately, the baby orangutan suffered from a serious rash and it needed to be taken to the vet in order to get healed.
Clara was not happy about this!
The rash that the baby orangutan suffered from was contagious and the vet decided to keep the little orangutan at the medical center for an entire week in order to make sure that the rash gets treated before the baby orangutan is released.
What many people don’t know about orangutans is that they are not always the best of parents.
If their babies are taken away from them, the orangutan parents will often stop recognizing the baby as their own and event get violent.
Now that the baby orangutan was healed, the caretakers needed to take him back to his momma.
This was a risky mission and the caretakers were determined to not rush the reunion so that the orangutan mamma would accept her baby back.
This orangutan is Clara and she has been moody ever since her baby was taken away from her.
Clara didn’t understand what happened and she is now staying inside a special cage so that she doesn’t hurt anyone.
All the caretakers were worried that Clara would get aggressive when she sees the baby orangutan, but this is not what happened.
Instead of slamming against the cage, Clara stood still and calm.
The caretaker who was holding the baby orangutan didn’t want to rush the process so she got close to the steel cage so that Clara could get a better look at the little fella.
As the caretaker was getting closer to the steel cage, she was waiting to see what kind of reaction Clara would have. To everyone’s surprise, Clara was standing still and looking at the baby.
This gave hope to the caretaker since it meant that Clara recognized the little orangutan.
Now that the baby orangutan was close to the steel cage, Clara started sniffing him. Things were looking great because Clara started extending her hand as if to grab the baby.
However, the caretaker was not sold yet. She still wanted to make sure that Clara has the best intentions.
The caretaker realized that before she could hand off the baby orangutan, she needed to be one hundred percent sure that Clara is happy to have the baby around.
This is why the caretaker took the little hand of the baby and placed it close to the steel cage.
Cara started reaching through the steel cage and the caretaker almost froze. Fortunately, the only thing that Clara wanted to do was to touch the baby.
To make things even better, Clara was gentle when she touched the baby.
Now that the caretaker noticed that Clara is really gentle around the baby orangutan, she started asking herself is Clara is ready to be reunited with her baby.
Do you think she is?
The caretaker had her question answered when Clara leaned close to give the baby orangutan a smooch.
It was clear, Clara was more than ready to be reunited with the little baby orangutan who was taken away from her one week ago.
Clara was so excited to hold her baby that she even tried to unlock the cage herself.
Isn’t it amazing how smart orangutans are?
Clara couldn’t wait to have her baby in her arms and she was sitting by the door waiting for it to be open.
This is the big moment that the caretakers feared but from the looks of it, everything was going fine.
Everyone who works at the Orangutan Jungle School was moved by the way Clara reacted to seeing her baby.
They couldn’t believe how much Clara loves the little fella.
The first thing that Clara did when the caretaker handed her the baby orangutan was to give it a big hug.
There’s nothing stronger than a mother’s love for her children!
Now that Clara took the baby back, we can be sure that he will grow big and strong.
Not just that, but he will never have to worry about anything as long as Clara is around because she will never let him go again.
We are glad to let everyone know that our heartwarming story has a happy ending.
The caretakers said that they don’t have any reason to break Clara and her baby apart and that they are going to live a great life together.
