Although Garbage Pail Kids cards weren't that popular amongst parents, it didn't stop kids from loving them. Well, hopefully you went against your parents' distaste for them and kept buying the cards anyways, because they are worth A LOT. Some cards can sell for hundreds and some can sell for even thousands.

It all depends on which card it is, when it was made, and the condition it's in. Recently, just ONE card alone sold for $300, and an entire set of 1985 Garbage Pail Kids Series One went on eBay for $4,000.

Pokemon Cards

Who would've known that collecting Pokemon cards you were obsessed with when you were younger would pay off? Since their initial release in 1996, Pokemon cards have gained a huge following.

Some of these cards, if they're rare and in good condition can go for THOUSANDS of dollars.

1978 Luke Skywalker Action Figure

It's a known fact that collectors are willing to spend massive amounts of money to get what they want. Star Wars has had a devoted and cult-like fan base since it's release in the 1970s, and their collectible products have been known to sell for a lot.

These fans are so diehard that in 2015, the Luke Skywalker Action figure released in 1978, was sold for $25,000. That is some serious devotion!

PEZ Dispensers have been a collector's dream since their initial release, with many people trying to collect ALL of them. In fact, some of the dispensers are so rare, that they can sell for thousands of dollars, along with a whole collection.

The popularity of these cool candy dispensers never really went away, and recently a 1982 dispenser known as the Astronaut B, sold for $32,000 on eBay.

Original Monopoly

The original hand-drawn version, created by Charles Darrow in 1933 sold for $146,500 in 2011.

So, if you have any vintage versions in the 1930s or limited edition versions of Monopoly, you can be looking to make some serious cash.

Game Boy

With all the snazzy and high-tech gaming systems that exist today, why would there be any need for a Game Boy, right? Wrong.

If you still have your old Game Boy, it can go for hundreds of dollars. If you still have any of the special editions such as the Game Boy Light, it can for for over $1,000 dollars.

Since the initial release of Hot Wheels in 1968, over 4,000,000,000 Hot Wheels cars have been made, and only a few of them are considered valuable.

Some Hot Wheels were only created as prototypes, such as the 1969 “Volkswagen Beach Bomb” prototype, that never made it to actual production, making it valuable up to $125,000.

During the 80s, the kids went crazy for Pound Puppies.

Today, they can make you a pretty penny, going for more than $5,000.

Cabbage Patch Dolls

Cabbage Patch Dolls were a huge deal for a long time, and depending on which doll you have, you can earn a lot for it. These days, the most expensive Cabbage Patch Dolls belong to Pat and Joe Prosey.

They have over 5,000 in their custom built museum and they’re selling their whole collection, and they’re selling the whole collection for $360,000.

Sega Genesis Console

If you happen to come across one of these in your basement, it’s a good idea not to throw it away.

Check to see if it works, and if it does, you should probably sell it because you can make up to $2,000 for it.

In 1936, this toy was only on the market for 50 cents.

If you grew up in the 80s, you probably recognize Skeletor and He-Man, the most popular action figures from the Masters of the Universe World.

In 1982, an in-box mint condition Skeletor action figure can go for $2,000 today.

Lite Brite

These were especially popular during the 1960s and 1970s, and many different versions of this game were made.

These days, an original can go for over $100, which isn’t bad when you remember you probably only paid $20 for.

Happy Meal Toys

Of course, the value varies depending on which Happy Meal Toy you still have. Happy Meal Toys have been around since 1979 and have remained extremely popular.

Certain themes have becomes collectibles, like the 2002 Disney theme characters, which recently sold on eBay for $300.
