Ex-Nasa Engineer Might Just Be The Real Batman

No Ordinary Engineer

Mark was fascinated with gadgetry and building contraptions from a young age. As a brilliant young man, he was no ordinary kid. As Mark got older, his inventive mind and talents led him to a dream career.

He had proven himself in many different ways. Making it didn’t just mean financial growth but the freedom to build and design whatever he wanted. This time, when he set his mind to creating a special “office”, the result was awe-inspiring.

A Clear Path

Mark’s early years already showed signs of his bright future. As a kid, he’d begun his journey as an inventor when he designed and built a pair of goggles that helped the user avoid tears when cutting onions.

As he got older, his dreams and ambitions grew accordingly. Mark had always seemed destined to be a success. Even so, his eventual path still managed to exceed expectations.

College

Given Mark’s evident penchant for engineering, his destiny was never questioned. Raised in Orange County, California, he obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from Brigham University before completing a master’s degree at the University of California.

His achievements as a student had already begun turning heads by the time he entered the working world. Straight out of college, Mark landed a dream job for any kid that loves to build stuff.

NASA

In 2004, shortly after completing his first degree, Mark was recruited to NASA. As an engineer for the iconic organization, Mark was able to work in their jet-propulsion laboratory.

Mark spent a total of nine years working for NASA. He spent seven years living out every kid’s dream—space driving.

The Rover

Mark spent the bulk of his career working on the Curiosity Rover. The Rover is the size of a regular car with a critical difference. It was designed to be driven on Mars.

By 2011, the iconic machine was officially launched from Cape Canaveral. Remarkably, the Rover is still there and is still operational. Having proven himself again, Mark was ready to move on to new challenges.

Apple

From 2015 to 2018, Mark secretly worked as a mechanical engineer for global tech giant Apple Inc. As part of their product design team, Mark continued growing his outstanding career.

However, it was years before this when Mark began dabbling in the activities that would ultimately change his life and make him famous.

Viral Content

While still at NASA, Mark began making videos for youtube. The intriguing nature of his work, coupled with Mark's effervescent personality and wit, made his videos an instant success.

Having already seen the potential in viral content creation, Mark took his formidable talents to the next level.

The Big Picture

Mark’s ultimate success also exhibits his clear passion for science and technology. While his videos are delivered with fun and almost child-like exuberance, a greater purpose is fulfilled beyond simply being entertaining.

In the process, Mark is very adept at teaching and engaging people, especially younger viewers. He’s, therefore, able to build fascination and interest in science and tech while teaching others how cool these disciplines can be. However, Mark has also built up a massive following with his other activities.

Pranskter

Anyone who is familiar with Mark’s videos and activities knows that he loves using science to prank people. He sometimes goes further by using science to prank thieves, scammers, and dishonest people.

Aside from this, Mark is also a massive advocate for important causes. Some of these were inspired by him having a deep, personal connection to them.

Advocate

Mark attained great success as an engineer, a businessman through his science-based Halloween costume company and from being a viral content creator. He is also a strong advocate for environmentalism and raising awareness for autism, the latter being a personal passion as Mark’s son is autistic.

Between all the fun and philanthropy, Mark remains a serious and talented engineer. Always on a quest to merge science and fun, one of his latest designs has been causing a stir for different reasons.

The Office

Mark’s special project appears to be a regular, dusty old office. However, once Mark reveals the truth behind it, one can’t help but think of a legendary character. DC Comic’s character, Bruce Wayne, is a billionaire, philanthropist by day, and of course, the superhero Batman by night.

The character also happens to be a genius inventor. In the Dark Knight movies by Warner Bros. Pictures, Bruce Wayne famously uses an old piano and later a fake office to conceal his secret activities. Now, these concepts have been turned into reality.

The Reveal

In one of his latest YouTube videos uploaded in June 2022, famous Youtuber-Engineer, Mark Rober, revealed his special “office”. What appears to be a regular, slightly old-fashioned office hides something much cooler.

Topped off with secret entryways and hidden catches to open them, Mark reveals that this “office” actually acts as a front to a massive secret laboratory. Once inside, he takes viewers on a virtual tour and shows off its cool features and uses, of which there are many.

The Lab

The lab features tons of funky and entirely usable gadgets and toys. It functions as a vast warehouse that doubles as Mark's place to design, build, and experiment on his inventions in a fun and ultra-cool space.

The lab, its gadgets, and Mark’s fun, quirky, and inventive activities in there are the stuff of dreams. It’s clear that for all of Mark Rober’s success, his greatest accomplishment has been his ability to turn his passions and skills into unique, fun, and awesome inventions. That’s not all.

The Toys

Mark’s lab includes many enjoyable and fully functional features. Some of these are a pneumatic counterweight that functions like a perfectly balanced fireman’s pole, modified nerf shooters, a self-playing piano, transformable furniture, retro arcade games, and even the world’s largest Hotwheels track.

All in all, Mark’s lab may not quite be the Bat Cave, but it certainly does have the ability to help any person get in touch with their inner child and have fun while learning. If all that, Mark still had one more surprise for viewers.

Crunch Labs

Known as the “Crunch Lab”, Mark and his team also created “crunch lab build boxes”. These contain components that teach kids to build stuff. Therefore, kids engage their creative brains and learn to foster basic engineering concepts.

Mark revealed that he would place a special “ticket” in one of the boxes every month. This means the lucky kid that finds it gets to visit the lab and spend a day inventing whatever they want with Mark and his team.
