25. No Bed
I once booked a room for a romantic weekend in San Francisco through hotels.com in a nice 4-star hotel. When we arrived, they put us in a parlor room, which is a room designed to host a cocktail party.
Sure we had a minibar and a great view, but no bed. Complaining to the front desk went nowhere. The clerk actually had the nerve to say “We charge $300/night for that room, you’re getting a great deal”.
I called hotels.com and they gave me a refund and assured me our 2nd night would be in a real room. It was. Their “refund” ended up being a voucher for a free night’s stay. As a result, I don’t use hotels.com anymore.
