41. Something Was Wrong
My grandmother swore from the time I was 5 years old that there was going to be something physically wrong with me, despite being very physically active and healthy as a child. Flash forward, I’m 18 and diagnosed with a severe form of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome that now limits me to my bed very frequently.
For some reason, I didn’t show symptoms until high school. When we called my grandma to explain my diagnosis a year ago, she replied, ‘Jen (my mother) I knew something was wrong.’
