Meaningful Encounter
Have you ever wondered what would happen when people from entirely different worlds meet? Suzan was doing her thing, when she spontaneously decided to share food with a homeless man. This gesture represented the butterfly effect in its truest sense, and she was unaware of its significance.
The two were completely unaware of the profoundly positive impact that this encounter would have on both of their lives.
Dreaming Big
Suzan has always wanted to be the owner of a restaurant. Regardless of how appealing the concept was in her thoughts, she quickly understood that matters would not be as straightforward as she had imagined.
Suzan, dissatisfied with the way things were going, decided to distract herself by going out to lunch.
Getting Lunch
Suzan's phone rang while she was busy getting hamburgers for her and a girlfriend. The call made her feel even worse...
As soon as she secured her takeout, she started her search for the best lunch spot. As she was walking down the street, something grabbed her attention.
Noticing Him
She noticed a man sitting next to a cardboard sign. When she saw him, she immediately knew what she needed to do.
Without any hesitation, she started walking towards the man.
Needing A Friend
Suzan had an extra meal with her, as her friend could not make lunch anymore and she definitely needed some company after the day she had. The man looked up and noticed Suzan was approaching him, he greeted her with a smile.
What he said to Suzan reaffirmed her choice to walk over to him. She knew he was a good man.
Initiating Things
“Good afternoon ma’am. Hope you’ve been having a good day” he kindly said to her. “Can’t complain really, but I’m looking to share a meal with someone, would you mind?” she said, hopeful.
He eagerly agreed, and not long after the two were enjoying their meals, ignorant to what events will soon unfold.
Getting To Know Each Other
As the pair ate their meals, they started sharing information about themselves. The man introduced himself as Kevin and he was she was a year younger than him. The two immediately bonded.
Kevin asked Suzan a question as they got to know each other better, and she gave him a response that made his face lit up.
Hopes And Dreams
Kevin asked about Suzan's dreams and ambitions. She confided in Kevin about her goal of one day owning a restaurant.
She looked to her side as soon as she finished speaking to find Kevin gazing at her with a mixture of surprise and... appreciation?
Strange Coincidence
Suzan could feel her cheeks turning red as he looked at him. "What is it?" she asked. With his eyes fixated on her, he shared that it was his dream to be a head chef at an establishment, but due to financial constraints he could never finish culinary school.
She felt hope consuming her body. She could not believe the coincidence!
Shared Goal
Suzan knew this was an opportunity that just fell in her lap, and she would be a fool to let it slip away. She told Kevin about her struggles with finding a loyal chef.
After finishing their lunch, the two walked together with a shared goal in mind.
Take A Chance
Suzan waited as Kevin put on his best show, cooking his signature meal. It was as if she was watching the reenactment of the Disney movie Ratatouille, minus the rat, for that was the dish he prepared, and she had a similar reaction to the meal as one of the characters in the movie.
Suzan knew that to seize this opportunity she had to act fast.
The Deal Of A Lifetime
Suzan presented a deal to Kevin. The deal was to pay him a generous monthly fee to create a menu. If the meals were as impressive as the one he just made, she would hire him as the restaurant’s head chef.
Kevin directly accepted Suzan’s deal, unaware of how big of a change it will have on his life in every way possible.
Sudden Change
Every two days, Kevin presented a different plate that Suzan enjoyed. By the time Kevin had created half of the menu, their meetings had already turned into dates. As more time passed, their feelings for each other grew, and their plans to launch the restaurant were almost ready.
Soon after the restaurant opened, a significant yet sudden change occurred between the two.
Change In The Air
A month after opening the restaurant, Kevin started acting off and told Suzan that he had something crucial to propose. He made the urgency of the situation clear, which left Suzan with no choice but to close the restaurant for the day.
Worried that Kevin could have changed his mind about his plans she patiently waited to hear what proposition he had to present.
Literal and Metaphorical
Kevin’s proposal ended up being a marriage proposal, making her swoon and laugh at herself at the same time. The two are now married and have two children and are still running a restaurant together. Kevin and Suzan’s story is what fairytales are made of.
It comes to prove that you never know where you might meet your soulmate, he might be just around the corner, literally or metaphorically.
