Flight Attendant Didn’t Let 87-Year-Old Woman Into Business Class. But Then They Learned Who She Was

While some of us lead normal lives, there are people out there who have lived a life that would even put a rollercoaster ride to shame! Mrs. Wilson is one of those people. An 85-year old lady who took a flight for the first time had no idea that it would turn out to be the most memorable experience of her life.

The 2-hour long journey in the air was full of bad, good, and nostalgic experiences for the old lady. And not only for Mrs. Wilson - her co-passengers as well had no idea what they had signed up for!

Never been on a plane

Mrs. Wilson was an 85-year old woman who had never been on an airplane. So when she arrived at the airport, things got a little overwhelming for her. as she had no idea what to do.

She was following people around like a lost puppy, hoping that someone would come and help her. However, everyone was in a hurry to catch their own flights, so she kept standing baffled and helpless in the middle of a huge airport.

Hid the key in her shoes

Because Mrs. Wilson had never been to an airport before, she had no idea that how strict the security was. So, just as she was used to, she hid the keys of her room in her shoes, and that tricked off the metal detector door.

She had to be frisked thoroughly, and the security personnel told her to remove the keys. She was already puzzled, and this instance made her even more nervous and confused.

Passengers avoid her

Despite being dressed in her best clothes, she was avoided by people around. Mrs. Wilson kept asking for directions, but only a few people were willing to help her.

She somehow managed to get to the check-in counter. Unfortunately, there she was about to experience more humiliation.

Business-class ticket

When Mrs. Wilson showed her ticket to the young lady at the check-in counter, she scanned Mrs. Wilson from head to toe. “Oh, so you’ve got a business class ticket? That’s nice.” The lady said in a judgemental tone.

Keeping her head down, Mrs. Wilson nodded. Her whole experience at the airport was traumatizing. Little did she know that it was about to get worse.

Almost missed her flight

After getting done with the formalities, Mrs Wilson headed towards the boarding gate. Unfortunatey, she got lost on the way. She was constantly keeping a check on her watch and she knew that she was running a bit late.

At some point, Mrs. Wilson started panicking. It seemed that she was about to miss her flight. Luckily she somehow reached the boarding gate and waited there for the boarding to commence. That's where the worse started happening.

Nice man

There was a nice young man who noticed that Mrs. Wilson was a bit worried. “I believe this is your first time taking a flight?” he asked Mrs. Wilson in a very polite tone and smiled. “Yes, dear.” She replied and smiled back.

“If you need any help, let me know.” Mrs. Wilson had no idea that this was going to be the only good thing that would happen to her in the hours to come.

Boarded the plane

Mrs Wilson got up from her seat as soon as she heard the announcement that the boarding had commenced. She took tiny little steps and finally got into the aeroplane. One of the flight attendants scanned her ticket and helped her find her seat.

As soon as she got into the business class, everyone stared at her. She took a deep sigh thinking that the nightmare had finally ended. However, it had just begun!

Disgruntled man

Her seat was adjacent to a smart-looking young man dressed in a designer suit. As soon as he saw her sitting right beside him, he put his magazine on her seat and said “Why are you sitting here? Beggars don’t belong in the business class!”

He then called out for a flight attendant and requested her to check Mrs. Wilson’s ticket again. She stood there, embarrassed and about to burst into tears.

Attendant intervenes

As soon as the attendant arrived, Mrs. Wilson took her ticket and showed it to her. The attendant confirmed to Mr. Thompson, the disgruntled man, that she indeed had a business class ticket. “If that is the case, I should have opted for an economy class ticket.

I don’t want to sit beside her.” Mr. Thompson thundered at the attendant. No doubt, this man would behave differently if he knew who Mrs. Wilson really was.

Young man to the rescue

All this while, the young man who talked to Mrs. Wilson nicely before boarding the plane was watching what was happening. He couldn’t take it anymore, so he got up from his seat and shouted at Mr. Thompson “She has paid the same amount as you did for the ticket.

You lowlife, she has every right to be in her place and have some respect for someone who’s much older than you!” He too had no clue about the identity of the old lady he was defending.

Economy class

Mrs. Wilson had enough. Nothing went fine since the moment she stepped foot inside the airport. She was tired of it all so she announced “If that is the case then I’ll move to the economy class. I don’t want to cause any trouble to anyone.”

Everyone started staring at her but most of the people who were present there felt bad for her. What would Mr. Thompson do now?

Mr Thompson backed down

After the young man’s thunderous statement and Mrs. Wilson taking the blame on herself, Mr. Thompson started feeling bad about what he did. He slowly removed his magazine from Mrs. Wilson’s seat and told her in a hushed tone “You can sit. I’m sorry for what I did.”

The truth was about to be revealed, and Mr. Thompson didn't know what shocking information he was about to learn.

Photograph falls down

The old lady finally sat on her business class seat but she didn’t realize that her handbag had accidentally opened up. An old photograph of a kid with curved edges fell down near Mr. Thompson’s feet and he picked the photograph up.

He gave the photograph back to Mrs. Wilson who cleaned it up, looked at it, and smiled. Who was in the photograph?

Her son, the pilot

“Is he your grandson?” Mr. Thompson was curious to know. Mrs. Wilson’s face brightened up and it was like all the wrinkles on her face had disappeared into the thin air as she revealed who that was. “He is my son and currently, at the moment, he is flying this plane.”

Mr. Thompson’s eyes went wide open. What did he do? How could he make such a mistake? Was he even going to apologize?

Poor family

Everyone around her then became keen to know more about her she started telling her life’s story. “We belong from a poor family. My parents used to own a farm that would keep us away from starvation.

Our family was riddled with issues, and people often used to say that we had the ‘Wilson’s Curse.’ Mrs. Wilson said. Her co-passengers had no idea that the next few hours were going to be a freaking rollercoaster ride for them!

The oldest and the youngest

Mrs. Wilson then revealed that her first name was Dorothy and that she was the oldest of 4 siblings. Being the oldest, she had it the hardest.

Later on, she also revealed that their youngest brother Peter was mentally challenged since the time he was born. Dorothy was the one who used to take care of him.

Father goes to the war

Just when the Wilson family started getting back on track, World War II broke out. The economy started crumbling again and what made their situation even worse was the fact that their father had to go to fight the war.

Dorothy’s mother and her 4 children were left without any financial support but they somehow managed. They used to constantly pray for their father’s safe return and always used to look out for letters from him.

Golden heirloom

Before leaving for the war, Dorothy’s father handed her something very precious. “I am handing this family heirloom to you and if I don’t return from the war, keep this safe with you and pass it on to your children.”

Mrs. Wilson’s father instructed her. He did return but he returned in a coffin. It was a major blow for her family because they lost the patriarch of the family.

Her sisters move away

The Wilson family somehow got through their financial crisis and were finally living a stable life. Soon after, Dorothy Wilson’s both sisters got married and moved to bigger cities to lead a better life.

Peter, their youngest brother still wasn’t mentally fine and required constant attention and Dorothy was the closest to him.

Stayed with her mother

While her sisters moved away to bigger cities, Dorothy had to stay with her mother and younger brother. She couldn’t have left behind Peter with her mother who was getting old as well.

Dorothy didn’t have time to do anything else than stay at home and take care of her family. This is the prime reason why she didn’t have a love life either. She was soon going to be blessed with a fairy tale though.

Met Jack

“I wasn’t actually looking for love when I first met Jack. He used to work at one of our neighboring farms and we knew each other since we were kids but never talked after growing up. He was cute as a duck and most importantly, he was an absolute angel!”

Mrs. Wilson started blushing while talking about her love life. But soon, her eyes became watery, hinting that there was a lot more than what met the eye.

Fell in love

By that time, everyone around her was engrossed in her story, that even blinking an eye was considered to be a sin. Mrs. Wilson continued – “It didn’t take long for us to fall in love. In a matter of a few months, we started planning our wedding.

His farm was right next to ours so I could even visit my mother and brother every now and then. But then, the ‘Wilson curse’ had to strike!” People around her were about to receive a major shock!

The Wilson Curse

For a change, Mrs. Wilson was happy but then the Wilson Curse struck and it struck hard! Her mentally unstable brother Peter accidentally set their house on fire and to rescue him from the raging fire, Jack went into the house.

Mrs. Wilson kept screaming their names and she just stood there, as the house burned down to ashes. Jack and Peter both died that day, leaving behind an agonized Mrs. Wilson.

Old shack

With their house burned down, Jack and Peter dead, the mother-daughter duo were left on their own. “We didn’t even talk to each other for days. We were so traumatized. I could never love someone again and neither could she after my father died in the war.

We were just a sad duo of mother-daughter trying to live out the rest of our days in an old shack.” Mrs. Wilson explained her plight. However, they were about to welcome a new member of their family.

Pregnant Dorothy

Dorothy and her mother were slowly recovering from the tragedy that took place in their own home. One fine day, Dorothy discovered that she was pregnant with Jack’s child! This made the mother-daughter duo a little cheerful.

“That brought some positivity in our lives. We were sick of losing people and new life always brings happiness.” She explained it to her co-passengers. Her happiness was soon going to vanish in thin air, again!

Dementia

When we told you that Mrs. Wilson’s life had been full of ups and downs, we weren’t kidding. Just when she started thinking that her soon-to-be-born kid would change her life, Mrs. Wilson’s mother was diagnosed with Dementia.

“It became very hard for me to take care of my own pregnancy and my mother’s sickness.” She explained to her fellow travelers.

Tragic events

Soon, Mrs. Wilson gave birth to a little baby boy and she was very ecstatic about it! “Despite all the problems that we had to face in our lives, I was thankful to God for blessing me with Kevin. He filled our lives with joy and laughter again.

But my sick mother’s condition grew even worse and one day, she tried killing my son! That wasn’t the only time she did that as she attempted to do it again!” Mrs. Wilson broke the news to her co-passengers as they clenched their seats.

Orphanage

Mrs. Wilson’s mother’s regular attempts of killing Kevin scared the living bats out of her. She knew that she had to take a crucial decision so she decided to give Kevin to an orphanage.

She sent her dear child away from her. She had no other choice as there was no other way to keep him safe from her own mother.

Mother dies

Dorothy used to spend the rest of her days taking care of her sick mother. She used to miss Kevin a lot but sadly, she couldn’t do anything about it because she didn’t want to stand her sick mother.

Soon after, her mother passed away while sleeping peacefully. Mrs. Wilson wanted to reunite with her long-lost child.

Goes back to the orphanage

After getting done with her mother’s funeral, Mrs. Wilson rushed to the orphanage. “I just wanted to get back my baby boy. But the authorities informed me that just a few days before I arrived at the orphanage, someone had already adopted Kevin.”

Everyone around her became a little sad when Dorothy told them this. But that was not yet the end of the story. How would Kevin, the pilot, react now?

Traces her son

Dorothy tried with all her might to trace Kevin’s whereabouts. She contacted several agencies that particularly do this job of finding people’s lost relatives.

Finally, she got to know that her dear Kevin had grown up and had become a pilot. She was so proud of her little boy!

Business-class ticket

“The reason why I saved money from so long to get a business class ticket in this particular airplane is that I wanted to be as close to my baby boy who’s currently flying this plane!” Mrs. Wilson said this in a trembling tone.

Her voice was breaking up and her eyes were becoming watery. She had just one thing in mind – “How would Kevin react!”

The flight attendant tells Kevin

All this while, one of the flight attendants was carefully listening to the whole conversation. She went inside the cockpit and told Kevin all about it. She told Kevin that his birth mother was flying in the same airplane as him.

That shook Kevin to the core but he calmed his head down somehow. He took the mic and greeted the passengers. He was about to make an announcement.

Kevin’s announcement

“Dear passengers, this is your Captain speaking. Our lives are full of ups and downs Without making mistakes, we cannot learn the actual meaning of life. We shouldn’t hold a grudge against someone and also I would like this moment to thank my mother, who’s flying with us today. And also tell her that I love her very much.

I had already forgiven her a long time back. I know she’s a good person and she deserves all the respect in the world.” Kevin’s announcement made Mrs. Wilson cry and everyone in the plane started clapping for her.

Family heirloom

After the flight landed, Kevin quickly arrived in the passenger cabin and hugged his birth mother. Mrs. Wilson couldn’t stop crying but those were tears of absolute joy and bliss. She took the family heirloom out of her handbag and handed it over to Kevin.

“You have no idea how badly I wanted to give you this family heirloom, all my life!” Kevin took the heirloom and hugged her again. The Wilson Curse seemed to have finally lifted off!
