DIY Skin Care Recipes For Your Skin Concerns

During the pandemic, using home remedies for beauty became the norm. Some people found the change to be distressing, but it also made DIY skincare become more common. If you know what you're doing, your refrigerator can hold some pretty spectacular skin-care recipes. Just imagine the healthy vitamins and minerals that can be found in fruit and vegetables. Vitamin C can be found in lemons and oranges, vitamins E and A in avocados, calcium and potassium in bananas, and so on.  Here are 15 simple DIY skincare recipes for skin revitalization, restoration, and hydration. Of course, talk with your dermatologist before trying them.

1. Hyperpigmentation

Turmeric and Lemon Juice: They are excellent anti-hyperpigmentation treatments because they "are both superb substances for lightening" dark patches. It can be applied all over the face or as a spot treatment on darker areas of skin. In a bowl, combine 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, and 1-2 teaspoons water. Mix the ingredients until they form a paste. Apply it all over your face or dab it on specific trouble areas of your complexion with a cotton swab. Allow the paste to perform its magic for 15-20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

2. Open Pores

Clay and Green Tea: Clay absorbs excess sebum (which can cause breakouts), removes dirt and debris, and soothes redness without removing essential oils from your skin. Kaolin clay has a neutral pH and is regarded as the gentlest clay, making it an excellent choice for dry, sensitive, and acne-prone skin. When used as a mask, it also functions as a blank canvas. Mix it with water or add honey, yogurt, or green tea to make it your own!

3. Exfoliation

In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of finely ground sugar with 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt. The lactic acid in the yogurt exfoliates and softens the skin gently. The sugar provides a stronger physical exfoliation that thoroughly cleans your pores. Sugar granules exfoliate the skin while also containing glycolic acid, which accelerates skin cell renewal and breaks down dirt in your pores.

4. Dry Skin

Avocado with Yogurt, Olive oil, and Honey: This hydrating mask will restore hydration to tough, dry skin. Avocado and olive oil contain omega fatty acids that help bind fissures between skin cells. And the soothing components, such as honey and yogurt, will leave your skin feeling delightfully smooth and plump – if not a bit sticky. Just make sure to thoroughly rinse around the hairline. Honey with Apple Cider Vinegar: Add one part apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to two parts honey. Apply to your freshly washed face and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with tepid water, then cool water. This should be done three times per week. This mask cures, hydrates, and balances the skin's pH. Honey is a natural antibacterial and humectant that heals and hydrates. Apple cider vinegar balances skin pH and soothes damaged skin.

5. Oily Skin

Cucumber and Avocado: This face mask formula is ideal for oily skin and will give it a clean, fresh look. Due to its vitamin C content, cucumber not only helps to moisturize the skin but also helps to decrease any facial breakouts. It will lessen any inflammation and give your skin a healthy glow when combined with avocado, which regulates oil production.

6. Acne and Blemish

Banana: If you have mild to moderate acne, you should consider incorporating this mask into your daily routine. Vitamin A, which is abundant in bananas and encourages skin cell turnover, also keeps pores clear. While the turmeric powder protects your face from acne-causing bacteria, the baking soda absorbs excess oil. Squash, honey, and tea tree oil: With squash to increase collagen synthesis, tea-tree oil to battle pimples, and honey to brighten the skin, this mask packs a powerful anti-acne punch. Apply it once a week for a glowing and more even complexion.

7. Irritated Skin

Avocado with Honey, Coconut Oil, and Lavender Oil: This is a refreshing and soothing face mask that cleanses and hydrates the skin. It hydrates the skin deeply with coconut oil, provides antioxidants with honey, and relieves redness with lavender oil. To get the most out of the spa experience, combine all of the ingredients and apply them to your face with a brush. Cucumber: Puree half a cucumber and mix with a quarter cup of milk, a tablespoon of honey, and brown sugar each. It's cooling, minimizes redness, and smells so delicious that you'll feel like you're at a spa rather than your kitchen for a moment. After only one application, the skin feels visibly softer and has undergone mild exfoliation.

8. Tanning

Papaya: Papaya, a fruit that naturally contains alpha hydroxy acids and the brightening enzyme papain, works as a mild exfoliant to remove dead skin cells and reveal younger-looking, softer skin. Blueberries: Use a relaxing berry mask to detox your face. The antioxidants in blueberries ward against free radicals and repair prior harm, while the vitamin C in lemons lightens skin.
