The couple adopted a little pup from the shelter and named him Khan. He seemed very gentle and friendly with little Charlotte, and they soon trusted him to be around her.

Charlotte and Khan would spend hours playing every day. Sometimes, they even slept in the same bed together.

With each passing day, Khan's behavior was getting stranger and stranger. He would take Charlotte's toys and run away as if he was teasing her.
The little girl thought Khan wanted to play with her and joined him. And that's when the disaster struck...
She Watched Them Play
Catherine was watching her daughter play with Khan from the kitchen window while doing some chores. Everything seemed ordinary at first. Charlotte was having fun running after their family dog.

Suddenly, Khan grabbed the girl from her diapers and started shaking her. As soon as Catherine saw that, she panicked and ran outside to save her daughter.

She Saved Her Daughter
Catherine ran as fast as she could to save her daughter. She grabbed her and rushed inside the house, leaving Khan in the backyard.
But then Khan did something that confused her even more.

As soon as Catherine took her daughter away from Khan, he laid down and closed his eyes. Catherine was perplexed by her dog's behavior.
She went to check on Khan and realized that he was injured. But how did it happen? Was it her daughter's fault? Catherine was in shock.

Khan couldn't move, so Catherine lifted him up and took him to the vet. The staff at the clinic realized that his condition was critical and immediately took him in.
Khan had strange marks all over his body as if something had bitten him.
He Was Attacked By A Snake
After performing some tests, the vet realized that Khan was bitten by a poisonous snake.
But before the vet had the chance to discuss the treatment plan with Catherine, Khan suddenly collapsed. Was it too late?
He Was Protecting Charlotte
It became clear to Catherine that Khan was only trying to protect her daughter from a poisonous creature in their backyard.
She wanted to know what kind of snake hurt Khan, so she asked the vet for more information. And his response left her at a loss for words...
They Saved Him
The vet couldn't tell what kind of snake hurt her dog, but it was definitely a vicious one. Fortunately, Khan got an anti-venom soon after the attack, and his condition stabilized.
Even though Khan's life was no longer in danger, he was still paralyzed. At that point, neither the vet nor Catherine knew if he would ever walk again.
He Stayed For A Few Days
The staff at the clinic did their best to stabilize Khan and keep him alive.
He stayed at the clinic for a few days before he was sent home. But would he walk again?
He Fully Recovered
After a few days, Khan was able to walk, run, and play with Charlotte again!
Their bond got even stronger after that day, and they are inseparable now!
