When a family from Florida heard a woman scream "let me out" repeatedly, they immediately called the authorities.
The officers were prepared for a twisted crime scene. But instead, they arrived at the suspect's house to find a much funnier explanation.
Shocked
Their jaws dropped when they realized what was really going on in his house.
So who was the woman? And why was she screaming?
Fixing His Car
A home security camera caught the cops approaching a man doing some mechanical work on his property.
According to NBC News affiliate WPTV, he was busy changing the brakes on his vehicle when the police officers interrupted him.
He Just Laughed
The man was notified that his neighbors had called the police because they heard screaming sounds coming from his house.
He looked at them and began laughing, offering to show the officers the source of the screaming.
Rambo
A few minutes later, the man returned with Rambo, his beloved Amazon parrot.
"I was changing the brakes on my wife's car and had my 40-year-old parrot, Rambo, on his outside perch where he sings and talks," he recalls.
Funny Situation
"Sometime later, four police officers showed up saying a neighbor called because she heard a woman screaming for help," he continued.
"I promptly introduced the officers to Rambo, and we all had a good laugh." But that wasn't all...
40-Year-Old Parrot
The man told the police officers that he got Rambo when he was a child. He taught his parrot how to scream for help when he was a kid to annoy his family.
He didn't realize at the moment that Rambo's screaming and vocabulary might alarm some people.
Amazon Parrots
Amazon parrots are known for their amazing ability to pick up speech and sounds.
This species of parrots can live for at least 50 years, and they love being the center of attention.
Excellent Memories
Amazon parrots have excellent memories, and they never let go of their bad habits.
Owners should be careful about what they say in front of their parrots because it's almost guaranteed that they will pick it up.
Local Celebrity
So, it's best not to teach them any swear words just in case. Rambo even earned a story on the local news after the neighbors called the police on his owner.
The man later confirmed that he had introduced his neighbors to Rambo, and they apologized for calling the police on him.
Misunderstanding
However, he doesn't blame the concerned neighbors for suspecting something was seriously wrong and calling the police.
But fortunately, it was just a misunderstanding.
Rich Vocabulary
Rambo didn't forget to show off his rich vocabulary to the police officers and the local news team that came to document his story.
Rambo's owner even went as far as taking his bird around the block to introduce himself to their neighbors.
"Let me out!"
"Afterward, I also introduced Rambo to the neighbor who called in the screaming," he recalls. "She too had a good laugh."
“Sometimes Rambo yells ‘help, help, let me out.’ Something I taught him when I was a kid and Rambo lived in a cage.”
Memorable Day
The police officers couldn't stop laughing when they learned that the "victim" was a parrot named Rambo.
They sure will remember this day for a long time!
Awkward Situation
The man must've been so confused when the police officers arrived at his house. After all, he hadn't done anything wrong!
How would you feel if your neighbors called the police on you?
