Mocking Her
The unpleasant employee kept pointing and staring at her child. She even mocked the fact that her daughter held her doll with her throughout the entire time. Abcde was puzzled and tearfully asked her mom, “mom, why is she laughing at my name?” Tori tried to hold back tears as she responded with, “You know honey, not everyone is nice and not everyone is going to be nice, it’s unfortunate.”
However, Tori was not going to back down. This woman will regret mocking her young daughter.
Predetermined
When Tori was a young girl, she daydreamed about getting married one day and having children of her own. Most youngsters decide on what they want to name their child but forget it as the years go by, but not Tori.
But she could never have predicted the long-term implications.
Keeping Her Promise
The moment Tori gave birth to her daughter, she recalled the name she chosen as a child. She decided to stay true to her young self and named her daughter ABCDE. Abcde appears unusual on paper, but it isn't voiced the way you may expect.
Abcde is pronounced as AB-City.
Worrying Symptoms
However, Abcde's life would appear to not be easy. Tori took her daughter home from the hospital, completely ignorant to certain complications that would later surface. She didn't start showing troubling symptoms until she was three years old.
Abcde was diagnosed with something that would alter the course of her life drastically.
Horrible Reality
Young Abcde was diagnosed with epilepsy and Tori was stunned. Her heart ached knowing what her daughter would have to endure for the rest of her life. She knew she needed to make her daughter's life as perfect as she physically could.
She had no clue, however, that not everyone would be as compassionate and accommodating as she was.
Older Now
Abcde was now five years of age and she had been episode free for a few months! However, she carried a scar with her which she obtained from a fit the previous year.
Tori wanted to prevent her daughter going through something like that ever again, but little did she know that other people would be the problem.
Feeling Nervous
Tori wanted to spoil her daughter with a little weekend holiday. In order to get to their vacation spot, they needed to take a flight which made Tori's young daughter feel anxious. Tori did her best to reassure her daughter and to make sure she had nothing to stress about.
But she kept her particular state in mind in her mind. Before, she had flight attendants who were understanding of what she was talking about. However, she would be surprised by the next person that came across their path.
Arriving Early
They arrive at the airport at the crack of dawn to make sure that they had time to confirm their flight tickets. The woman that was working at the desk gave them a smile as they went to board their airplane.
The next woman, on the other hand, was anything but kind.
Terrible Flight Attendant
The two went to stand in the queue to check their boarding passes. This was required before they were allowed on the plane but the woman working at the checkpoint made the process very difficult for them.
She snapped a picture of Abcde's ticket and posted it on social media. Tori, on the other hand, would be enraged by the rationale.
Laughing At Her
The woman was laughing uncontrollably due to her daughter's name and shared her flight ticket on the internet. Tori was stunned to see how little regard this woman had for her daughter. She believed that her name was perfectly fine and not something that should be laughed at.
The fact that she was acting so unprofessionally surprised her the most. She wasn't finished yet, though.
Continued Ridicule
The rude staff member continued to point and stare at her daughter. Even laughing at her small doll she kept with her all the time. Abcde looked confused and asked her mother, “mom, why is she laughing at my name?” Tori felt tears well up in her eyes as she calmly said “You know honey, not everyone is nice and not everyone is going to be nice, it’s unfortunate.”
But Tori wouldn’t take this incident lying down. She would make the woman in question regret ever messing with her daughter.
Filing A Complaint
After their flight, Tori decided to file a complaint with the airline in question who quickly took action. They gave her daughter a formal apology and said that “The post is not indicative of the care, respect, and civility we expect from all of our Employees”.
They even explained what further actions they would take.
Further Actions
The airline explained what they had in store for the employee in question
“We have followed up with the Employee involved, and while we do not disclose personnel actions publicly, we are using this as an opportunity to reinforce our policies and emphasize our expectations for all employees.”
Understanding
Even though her daughter’s feelings had been hurt Tori wanted to teach her to be the bigger person. The apology was more than enough and the two let it be water under the bridge.
And besides, they had a weekend getaway to look forward to.
Happy Ending
Tori and Abcde ended up having a wonderful weekend getaway. Tori surprised her daughter by taking her to none other than Disneyland! There Abcde was beyond cheerful with a grin on her face the entire time.
She even spoke to Minnie Mouse, who told her she had a wonderful name.
