Leaving Her Kitten Alone
Jill didn't understand. Why would she leave her defenseless kitten alone while she went back outside? Jill started to worry about the kitten's safety before looking back into her property.
But that's when Jill's stomach turned. She saw the cat running back to the house again. But she couldn't believe what she had left her kitten inside to go out and bring in.
Stray Cats
Even domesticated cats can sometimes appear to be wild. With that in mind, stray cats come and go as they please. But when one couple decided to take one in that they'd always find on their property, they didn't expect the chaos it would bring.
Just a week after they officially adopted her, she'd arrive on their doorstep with something unexpected that would change their lives.
Thomas And Jill Graham
Thomas And Jill Graham both graduated from Ohio State University in their early twenties and immediately wanted to start a life together. They had met at their place of study and quickly fell in love. Both of them studied medicine. Jill wanted to specialize, while Thomas wanted to be a general practitioner.
They quickly found a house they could see a future in and bought the land. But something always felt like it was missing.
Another Addition
The two felt as if they needed something to fill an indescribable void they both felt in their otherwise happy life together. After sitting down and discussing it, they finally figured out what it was.
They needed something more together. A child so soon was out of the question, but a pet would be a great addition to their dynamic. But before they could even consider what to get, she appeared.
A Stray
Just as the couple agreed to start looking for a pet to adopt, the strangest thing happened. Stray cats started appearing on their property. It was as if it was a sign from the universe. Jill being an animal person, started leaving out food for them.
Over the course of a few weeks, Jill started bonding with one particular feline. But she had no idea how much this cat was about to complicate their lives.
Having A Discussion
Jill had bonded with one cat so much that she decided to have a discussion with Thomas. She asked him if he thought adopting her would be a good idea. Maybe she could fill the void they felt.
Thomas thought it over and told Jill they'd have to prepare to take her in. So the couple would spend some time prepping their home. But they didn't know what mistake they were making.
Cozy Place
Not wanting to waste money, Thomas decided to build a cozy little place for the cat to sleep in if she wanted to. They made sure their house was cat proof and then were ready to receive the feline.
But they couldn't find her anywhere as soon as they were ready. It was as if she had vanished off the face of the earth. But if they knew what she was doing, they would never have built anything for her.
Reappearing
To Jill's delight, her feline returned to the house after a day or two. She had been staying on their property for a while now, and Jill couldn't help but notice her emerge from the cottage.
The land came with a small cottage for guests to use, but neither Jill nor Thomas ever used it. She wondered what she was doing there but was happy to have the feline back.
Bringing Something
The cat checked out her sleeping arrangements and the rest of the house. It was as if she was making sure they were up to her standard. Then, she bolted back outside and would spend the night outside somewhere.
Jill didn't understand why she would never spend nights inside the house. Until one morning a week later, the cat came knocking on their window, bringing something they could never have expected.
A Kitten
Jill couldn't believe it. Her cat had a kitten in her mouth. She meowed at the window and stared at them. Jill rushed to open the window and let her in. The cat moved the little baby into the spot that they had made for him.
But then she surprised the couple even more by leaving the kitten inside. She bolted out of their window again.
Coming Back

Another Kitten!
Jill felt her pulse racing when she saw the cat coming back to the house with another kitten! She jumped through the window again and placed the baby next to the other kitten. But then, once again, she left the house.
Jill knew what was coming. She looked out to the cottage in their garden and saw the blur of her cat bouncing back to the house. She had another kitten.
Taking Matters Into Her Own Hands
This time, Jill thought she'd take matters into her own hands. She walked out into the garden to see a few of the usual strays hanging around. But she knew what she was looking for was inside the cottage.
She walked over while the cat kept bringing kittens into the house. When she opened the door to the cottage and looked inside, she couldn't believe what she had seen.
So Many Kittens
To Jill's surprise, there were still a lot of kittens in the cottage. The cat must have given birth in the last two days and been going between looking after them and going into the house. She found an old blanket to keep the kittens warm before making sure the house was a good environment for her offspring.
Jill didn't know how to feel. She was shocked more than anything else. She knew at that moment that she had to help get the kittens in the house. Then she'd decide what to do.
Keeping Them
After getting the kittens inside with their mother, Jill had another sit-down with Thomas. She thought he'd be harsh, but it seemed that he instantly fell in love with the fur babies.
He was completely on board with keeping the kittens. They already had a lot of strays on their property; what could a few more hurt? In time, the void they were looking to fill was satisfied by their new companions.
