Man Spends 20 Years Building Massive Life-Sized Replica Of Noah’s Ark

Crazy Looks

His creation was finished. His hands were blistered, but it was more than worth it to do it for his father. He knew he was proud. Then he saw the looks that the neighbors gave him. They definitely thought he was crazy, and maybe he was!

It had taken months to build and more money than he was proud of. But he followed his father’s design down to the letter. It was finished. But what he never expected was to get a visit from the cops.

Noah Davidson

Hans Davidson was a gifted craftsman who lived in the Netherlands. There was nothing he couldn’t do with wood. He decided to raise his son, Noah, showing him the ways of the woodwork. Every Saturday morning, they would go into Hans’ shed and continue one of their projects.

From wooden animal carvings to cuckoo clocks, they were always working together to make something fun in their free time. These were the memories that stuck with him as he grew into an adult.

A Secret Project

Noah grew up and moved out of his childhood home. He got a good job with a steady income and settled down with a family of his own. But over the years, his bond with his father waned.

They stopped seeing each other nearly as often, only once every three months. But Noah had no idea what he was missing. But his father would still have one project for him to help him with, even if he didn’t know about it yet.

A Phone Call

Noah woke up one day and did the things he normally did. He made coffee, made his children breakfast, and dropped them off at school. But that day would be anything but normal. He sang along to the radio on his way to work.

But before he was even halfway to work, he got a phone call. He didn’t normally accept calls when he was driving, but it was from his mother. He knew something was wrong, so he accepted the call.

Devastating News

Noah answered the call and asked his mother what the matter was. He pulled over his car and listened to what she had to tell him. But he couldn’t have prepared himself for what he was about to hear.

It was devastating news, to say the least. His mother was in a shaky voice and had to tell him about his father - he had passed away. Noah knew that his life would never be the same after that call.

A Legacy

Noah struggled for months with his father’s death. He wished that there was more time to reconnect, just like when he was a young boy. One day, he decided to take a drive to his own childhood home and walk through his father’s workshop.

He instantly remembered every project he worked on in his youth with his father. He traced his hand over the workbench, looking at the projects his father had started in the years he had moved out. But he saw something incredible. It was a plan for a project that he had never started. It said, “For Noah.”

Putting His Plans Into Action

Noah knew at that moment that he had to take his father’s plans and make them a reality. He looked at the plans meticulously. He would need a lot of wood and other materials. And he knew his building wouldn’t go unnoticed.

He knew that the project would take weeks to complete, but it didn’t bother him. He’d spend every weekend for the next few months if he had to. He would put his father’s plans into action.

Supplies

He made up a list of everything he needed. The supplies wouldn’t fit in his car, so he had to order them, especially from a construction company. Soon trucks came and unloaded beam after beam of wood into his father’s backyard.

When he looked around at all of his supplies scattered beside him, he noticed a concerned neighbor peeping over their fence at him. It was clear that they didn’t like how many things he had ordered.

Progress

After an accumulative 9 hours of work, it was slowly taken shape. Hammer, nail, then repeat. He felt close to his father the entire time. Being just a few meters away from his workshop gave him goosebumps.

He was using the tools that he hadn’t held since he was a teenager helping his dad make planters for his business. They were dusty but felt special in his hands like no other tools were fit for the job.

Coming Together

The shape of the object was coming together now. He was a decent way done with it. He could now see that the concerned neighbor’s face went from concerned to flabbergasted. It was enormous, he was aware, but it was all worth it for his father’s memory.

After the course of the next three months, Noah would spend his weekends laboring over the project. Even getting his children to help where they could. His mom would come out of the property and chat with him all the while.

Finished

His creation was finished. His hands were blistered, but it was more than worth it to do it for his father. He knew he was proud. Then he saw the looks that the neighbors gave him. They definitely thought he was crazy, and maybe he was!

It had taken months to build and more money than he was proud of. But he followed his father’s design down to the letter. It was finished. But what he never expected was to get a visit from the cops.

An Ark!

His mother was proud that he had realized his father’s plans. Even if it was a silly design that he had sketched in his workshop never meant to be built, Noah knew he had to build it. The title of the design was “For Noah, Noah’s Ark.”

And it was exactly that. It was an enormous ark based on the biblical one used to save countless animals during the great flood. Any normal person would have looked at the design and laughed, but Noah took it as a challenge.

A Visit From The Police

But just as Noah wiped the sweat from his brow, he noticed a flash of red and blue from the street. He hopped off of his ark and saw none other than a police officer strutting towards him.

The man walked with purpose. Noah didn’t want any problems, but he honestly had no idea what he could have done wrong. But he knew that it had something to do with the noisy neighbor that stuck their nose in his business.

Concerned Neighbor

The officer greeted him with a smile and said, “We’ve had some complaints about what you’ve been doing, sir.” Noah explained that he had been building the boat for his father. “Oh, I see, well, as long as you’re not building anything dangerous.”

With that, the officer turned around and walked back to his car. He drove away, and Noah breathed a sigh of relief. Now he could turn around and look at his handiwork. The best part was his mother’s reaction.

Feeling Close

Noah’s mother had tears in her eyes. She knew that his father would have been over the moon to have him working on one final project. It was therapeutic for him and his mother to have this one last piece to remember him by.

It wasn’t just about building the work but about spending quality time together that he and his mother hadn’t had in years. He was sure that his father almost knew that his designs would have this impact. Noah looked up and thanked him for everything.
