The woman explained to the driver that she couldn't wait any longer because her grandson was in a car accident, and he was now in jail. He needed money for the bail! Then Richard told her once again that he heard this story before and she is getting scammed. He promised her they’ll go to the Police station and check if that was true.

Previously, the woman already sent gift cards bought from the Home Depot. She was close to losing a few more thousands after that trip at Walmart. But Richard told her they were not going to send any more money until they learn the truth. Once arriving at the police station, the officers stated that it was indeed a scam and that, unfortunately for the elderly, 99.99% of the cases are not solved because the scammers are operating out of US, and they’re incredibly difficult to catch. But this story is far from being over!

“I think it’s one of the scummiest crimes you can do,” said the cab driver. To learn that a member of your family is in serious danger and you help them out, and then realize it was all a lie and you lost thousands of dollars is really an experience nobody deserves to go through!
