Allie Livingwater couldn't wait to wear her grandmother's wedding dress. It was absolutely stunning, and it fit her perfectly!
But little did she know, she would soon regret her decision to wear the dress after finding a strange note inside.
Wedding Planning
Allie and Timothy had met over three years ago, and she knew instantly he was her soulmate.
Allie started wedding planning shortly after the proposal, spending most of her free time researching the venues and sending out wedding invitations. But there was just one problem.
A Problem
Everything was going according to the plan, except for the wedding dress. Allie had visited many boutiques and tried on numerous dresses, but none of them were to her liking.
The dresses she tried on just didn't impress her enough.
One Day
One day, Allie and her grandmother were talking about her future wedding, and she complained to her about how she couldn't find the perfect dress.
Allie wanted to keep the “something old, new, borrowed, blue” tradition and asked her grandmother if she could at least borrow her set of pearls for the wedding.
The Search
Her grandmother agreed and suggested that they go through the attic boxes and basement to see if they could find any other antique items that could match the theme.
While they were searching through the boxes, Allie spotted a large plastic bag with white fabric inside.
"Don't Bother"
“Oh, don’t bother with that, dear,” her grandmother said, covering the plastic bag with her body.
But Allie didn't listen to her and pulled at the white fabric until the entire wedding dress was exposed.
A Perfect Fit
“Best stay away from that style," her grandmother said. “It’s probably very out of date.”
But Allie thought it was perfect. And most importantly, it fit her perfectly!
A Note
As Allie was trying on the dress, she felt something in the pocket. It was a crumpled note.
Her grandmother's eyes filled with tears. “I can’t believe that’s still there,” she said. “After all these years.”
Keeping It A Secret
Allie unfolded the note and began reading. She couldn't believe her grandmother actually said these words during her wedding ceremony.
She never told anyone about the note and simply had the dress cleaned. But everything would change on her big day.
Torn
Fast forward to Allie's wedding day, and she was sitting next to her grandmother's dress, debating whether or not she should tell someone about the note.
Then, she made her decision.
Beautiful Moment
Allie grabbed the note and walked down the aisle with her father. When Timothy saw his bride, his eyes filled with tears.
When it was time to share their vows, Allie made eye contact with her grandmother, who was so proud of her.
"Run"
Allie took a deep breath and began her speech. “I wasn’t sure how to do this,” she started.
“But this note had been hidden away in my grandmother’s wedding dress since the day she was married. It gives one simple piece of advice – run.”
In Shock
Timothy's face went pale. Had Allie changed her mind about marrying him?
But she kept reading, “Run. I run towards you to be with you always. I run beside you while holding your hand and overcoming any obstacle."
Emotional
"I run for you when your burdens are heavy. I run. I run to love and for love.”
Allie saw her grandmother burst into tears. She had made these vows decades ago, and now her granddaughter reminded her about her wedding day and the love of her life.
Perfect Wedding
Everything about Allie's wedding was perfect: the venue, the food, the people, and most importantly, the dress.
Allie and her grandmother will cherish this moment for the rest of their lives.
