Being a healthy person, Nancy was confident her tests results would come back normal.

Nancy could only donate a kidney if she passed all these tests, and even if she did, she would still need to complete psychological testing to make sure she was mentally competent enough to make this life-changing decision.
The doctor needed to ensure she understood what she was getting herself into.

The doctor also warned her about possible complications after the surgical procedure. People with one kidney are at risk of developing proteinuria, fluid retention, and high blood pressure.
She would have to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and eating a nutritious diet.
