Billionaire Tells Homeless Man Three Words That Change His Life

Horace Scott served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1982. But when he returned home, he wound up homeless.

Every day was the same for Scott, and he had almost given up on his future, not realizing someone would soon walk into his life and save him.

He Worked Two Jobs

Scott started working two jobs to save enough money to rent a new apartment. But he would spend most of his salary on public transportation.

Fortunately, the world is full of kind people, and one of them would help Scott.

Bill Pulte

Scott would soon cross paths with a philanthropist named Bill Pulte. He is a CEO of a large financial corporation called the PulteGroup.

Unlike many billionaires, Pulte actively helps other people who are less fortunate than him.

He Asked The Former President For Help

One day, Pulte tweeted: “If @realDonaldTrump retweets this, my team and I will give two beautiful cars to two beautiful veterans.”

But would Trump retweet his post?

He Received A Response

After two hours, Pulte received a notification from Twitter. Donald Trump retweeted his tweet and responded with, “Thank you, Bill, say hello to our GREAT VETERANS!”

But Pulte wasn't surprised by Trump's quick response.

He Wasn't Surprised

“He tends to think outside of the box,” Pulte said about Trump.

"Bringing philanthropy online is an outside of the box idea." But how did he meet Scott?

He Flew To See Him

Gretchen Smith, an Air Force veteran, found Scott in a housing shelter and told Pulte about him. Instead of simply sending him a check, Pulte decided to do something different.

He flew 1,000 miles from Detroit to New Orleans to help the homeless man get back on his feet. So how did he do it?

He Brought Him To A Parking Lot

Pulte picked Scott up from the shelter and brought him to a post office parking lot across from a car dealership.

Scott had no idea what awaited him as he sat in his car. Then, Pulte stood up and said three words that changed his life forever.

He Bought Him A Car

Scott couldn't believe his eyes. This must've been some kind of a prank. Then, the philanthropist gave him the keys to his new car and said, "Here's your car!"

But would Scott keep the car?

He Was Shocked

"Get outta here! Oh, man. What? Oh, man, I'm ecstatic!" Scott shouted.

"I don't have words right now. This is heaven-sent." But Pulte had another surprise in store for him.

Veterans Are Special People

Pulte then turned to a group of people who gathered to watch this beautiful moment and said, "We care a lot about our veterans. Veterans are special people!"

"They fought these wars for us. They come back and sometimes aren't recognized for that."

Best Gift Ever

Pulte's gift meant the world to Scott. He would no longer have to spend his money on busses and trains to get from one place to another.

Plus, the car was air-conditioned, too. It was perfect for hot summer days! However, the car still wasn't officially his.

He Signed The Papers

Scott drove his new car to the dealership to sign the papers, so he could officially become the owner of the vehicle.

Pulte asked Scott to promise him that he would always give a ride to a fellow veteran if he saw them on the street. Of course, he agreed!

He Was Grateful

"Commanding officer, I want to thank you, sir, for honoring all vets. We really appreciate you," Scott told Pulte.

After helping Scott, Pulte gained hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter. He revealed that more than 600 people reached out to him to pitch in for Scott's car.

He Wants Kylie Jenner To Join

Pulte revealed in an interview that he also tried to convince Kylie Jenner to join the world of Twitter philanthropy.

“Please join Twitter philanthropy and help us spread love, kindness, and generosity. It's a movement. We'd love to have you," he addressed her.
