The end of summer is upon us, and kids are packing up their spider man lunch boxes, L.L. Bean embroidered backpacks, and heading back to school. To celebrate the season, we’ve collected a plethora of photos from when your favorite celebs were still in school. Late night talk show hosts, pop idols, and Superstar Actors; we have them all. You’ll probably recognize a few of them, but for others, you’ll be completely shocked.


Who doesn't love Sir Anthony Hopkins? The man is a movie legend. Notable for roles in iconic movies such as Legends Of The Fall, Meet Joe Black, and Silence Of The Lambs, Hopkins has graced the big screen for 50 years. His role as the cannibalistic socialite Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the lambs earned him the title of "#1 Film Villain" in 2007.

Ariana Grande


Ariana Grande-Butera (born June 26, 1993), better known as Ariana Grande, is an American singer and actress. She began her career in 2008 in the Broadway musical 13, before playing the role of Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon television series Victorious, and in the spinoff Sam & Cat until 2014. She has also appeared in other theatre and television roles and has lent her voice to animated television and films.

Grande's music career began in 2011 with the soundtrack Music from Victorious. In 2013, she released her first studio album Yours Truly, which entered atop the US Billboard 200. The album's lead single, "The Way", opened in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, with critics comparing her wide vocal range to that of Mariah Carey.

Bruce Willis


Walter Bruce Willis (born March 19, 1955) is an American actor, producer, and singer. His career began on the Broadway stage and then in television in the 1980s, most notably as David Addison in Moonlighting (1985–1989).

He is known for his role as John McClane in the film Die Hard and its four sequels. Willis attended Penns Grove High School in his hometown, where he had to cope with his stuttering problem.

Bruno Mars


Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, by a family of musicians, Mars began making music at a young age and performed in various musical venues in his hometown throughout his childhood. He graduated from high school and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a musical career.

Mars has received many awards and nominations, including five Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, one Guinness World Record, and was named one of Time's 100 most influential people in the world in 2011.

Bryan Cranston


Bryan Cranston is an American actor, producer, director and screenwriter. He is known mostly for his portrayal of Walter White on the AMC crime series Breaking Bad, and Hal on the Fox comedy Malcolm in the Middle.

Cranston has claimed that he based his portrayal of Walter White on his own father, who had a slumped posture "like the weight of the world was on his shoulders". Cranston graduated from Canoga Park High School, where he was a member of the school's chemistry club.

Conan O'Brien


Conan O'Brien is best known for hosting several late-night talk shows. Since 2010, he has hosted the talk show Conan on TBS. Known for his spontaneous style, which has been characterized as "awkward, self-deprecating humor", O'Brien's late-night programs are said to combine the "lewd and wacky with more elegant, narrative-driven short films".

O'Brien attended Brookline High School, where he served as the managing editor of the school newspaper. In his second year, O'Brien was an intern for Congressman Robert Drinan of Massachusetts. During his senior year, he won the National Teachers of English writing contest with his short story, "To Bury the Living".

George Clooney


American actor, director, producer, screenwriter, activist, and businessman George Clooney has received three Golden Globe Awards for his work as an actor and two Academy Awards. In 2009, Clooney was included in Time's annual Time 100 as one of the "Most Influential People in the World". He is widely praised for his political and economic activism, and has served as one of the United Nations Peace Messengers since 2008.

Clooney attended Augusta High School. He has stated that he maintained high grades in school and was an enthusiastic baseball player. He tried out for a role on the Cincinnati Reds in 1977, but he did not pass the first round of player cuts.

Jason Sudeikis


Sudeikis began his career in improv comedy. In 2003, he was hired as a writer for Saturday Night Live and was a cast member from 2005 to 2013.

Sudeikis and actress Olivia Wilde became engaged in January 2013. They have a son, Otis Alexander, born April 20, 2014, and a daughter, Daisy Josephine, born October 11, 2016.

Jimmy Fallon


American comedian, actor, television host and musician Jimmy Fallon is best known as the host of late-night talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and before that Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon attended St.

Mary of the Snow, a Roman Catholic elementary school. He considered being a priest, inspired by his experiences in his youth as an altar boy.However, He became more interested in comedy, as evidenced by his career.

Julia Roberts


After graduating from Smyrna's Campbell High School, she attended Georgia State University but did not graduate. She later headed to New York City to pursue a career in acting.

She became a Hollywood star after headlining the romantic comedy Pretty Woman, which grossed over $450 million worldwide. She has won three Golden Globe Awards and has been nominated for four Academy Awards for her tremendous acting.

Kate Winslet


Winslet received her preliminary education at the St Mary and All Saints' Church of England primary school. Living in a family of actors inspired her to pursue acting from a young age. At age 11, Winslet was accepted into the Redroofs Theatre School in Maidenhead.

While there, she managed to land roles in minor shows as well as many international commercials. Time magazine named Winslet one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2009, and in 2012, she earned the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Katy Perry


Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (Katy Perry) was born in Santa Barbara, California, to Pentecostal pastors Mary Christine and Maurice Keith Hudson. Growing up, she attended several religious schools and camps, including Paradise Valley Christian School in Arizona and Santa Barbara Christian School in California.

She began her music career at 13, when she received her first guitar, performing publicly for minor crowds. Perry rose to fame in 2008 with the release of her second album and its singles "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot n Cold".

Lady Gaga


Gaga was born as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986, in Manhattan, New York. From age 11, she attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private, all-girls Roman Catholic school. Gaga began her musical career performing songs at open mic nights and school plays.

Gaga achieved success with her debut album, a dance-pop and electropop record titled The Fame, and its singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face". Having sold over 25 million albums and 150 million singles, Gaga is one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Meryl Streep


Cited in the media as the "best actress of her generation," Streep is particularly known for being versatile in her roles and her ability to quickly adapt accents. Nominated for 20 Academy Awards, Streep has more nominations than any other actor.

In her Junior High debut, she starred as Lousie Heller in the play "The Family Upstairs".

Philip Seymour Hoffman


Hoffman was born on July 23, 1967, in the Rochester suburb of Fairport, New York. In high school Hoffman joined a drama club, and initially committing to it because he was attracted to a female classmate in the club.

While he mainly worked in independent films, Hoffman is well renowned for his supporting roles on major blockbusters such as Twister, Mission Impossible:III, and The Hunger Games series. Remembered for his fearlessness in playing truly disgusting characters, and for bringing humanity and depth to such roles, Hoffman was described in his obituary as "the most ambitious and widely admired American actor of his generation".

Alan Alda


American actor, director, and screenwriter Alan Alda is a seven-time Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner. Though he has been in a multitude of roles, his most remembered is that of Captain Hawkeye Pierce in the TV series M*A*S*H. As a child, his family would travel constantly to support his father's role as a performer in burlesque theater.

In college, he was a member of the ROTC. After graduating, Alda served for a year at Fort Benning, and then six months in the United States Army Reserve in Korea.

Angelina Jolie


As many of you know, Jolie comes from a family of actors and performers. Her father, John Voight, is an academy award winner whereas her mom gave up her dreams of acting in order to support her kids. Jolie admits to struggling with insomnia and eating disorders in her youth, as well as frequent drug use.

When she was 26 she adopted her first child, stating that the adoption brought stability into her life. She later stated, "I knew once I committed to Maddox, I would never be self-destructive again." She promotes various humanitarian causes such as environmental conservation, education, and women's rights.

Catherine Zeta Jones


Born and raised in Swansea, Catherine aspired to be an actress from a young age, landing herself roles in Annie and Bugsy Malone. At 15, she dropped out of school to pursue her acting career full-time. She has admitted that her early strategy for landing roles was to adopt different identities.

She would leave the audition, get dressed into a different outfit, and try again. Zeta-Jones is the recipient of several awards, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award and a Tony Award.

Danny DeVito


DeVito's short stature is the result of multiple epiphyseal dysplasia (Fairbank's disease), which is a rare genetic disorder that affects bone growth and development. For a man with short stature, He has a big name in HollyWood. He is known for his roles in Throw Momma from the Train, Tin Men, Ruthless People, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Man on the Moon, Terms of Endearment, Look Who's Talking Now, Big Fish, Romancing the Stone, Twins, Batman Returns, Other People's Money, Get Shorty, Be Cool, and L.A.

David Schwimmer


American actor, director, and producer David Schwimmer was born in Grimsby, England. He attended Beverly Hills High School, later attending Northwestern University in Chicago. While there, he and Stephen Colbert started an improv performance group together.

Schwimmer later gained worldwide recognition for playing Ross Geller in the sitcom Friends, for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. Along with his film work, Schwimmer is also an active director of the Rape Treatment Center in Santa Monica, which specializes in helping victims of date rape and child rape.

Zooey Deschanel


Deschanel was born January 17, 1980, in Los Angeles, California. Her father was a director so she spent much of her early years traveling wherever he was shooting.

She attended Crossroads, a private preparatory school in Santa Monica, where she ending up befriending future stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Kate Hudson. Deschanel is known mostly for her deadpan acting style, highlighted in films such as Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, 500 Days Of Summer, and Elf.

Gillian Anderson


Though her career began on the broadway stage, Anderson achieved global acclaim for her role as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully on the American sci-fi drama series The X-Files.

She attended Fountain Elementary and City High-Middle School, a program for gifted students with a strong emphasis on the humanities.

Harrison Ford


Ford's films total over US$4.7 billion in revenue, with worldwide grosses surpassing $6 billion, making Ford the second highest-grossing U.S. domestic box-office star.

Appearing in the Indiana Jones series, the Star Wars saga, and the Blade Runner films, Ford is a living legend. Ford was active in the Boy Scouts of America, and achieved its second-highest rank, Life Scout.

Iggy Azalea


Amethyst Amelia Kelly was born in Sydney, later moving to the USA to pursue her career as a rapper. You probably recognize her from her stage name, Iggy Azalea made the Billboard 100 with her hit single "Fancy". Azalea was featured on Ariana Grande's single "Problem", which peaked at number two while "Fancy" was number one.

This means that she is the only artist other than The Beatles to hold the first and second places. Fancy that.

Jim Parsons


Parsons made his Broadway debut portraying Tommy Boatwright in the play The Normal Heart, later reprising his role in the film adaptation. His break came in the role of Sheldon Copper, on The Big Bang Theory, for which he received critical acclaim.

After graduating from high school, Parsons received a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston.

Jude Law


Jude Law came to international acclaim for his role in Anthony Minghella's The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), for which he won the BAFTA Award for best actor.

Since then he has appeared in several films such as Road to Perdition, Alfie, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Law has also had an accomplished career on stage, receiving several nominations and awards for his Broadway and West End performances.

Kelsey Grammer


Grammer is known for his 20 year long portrayal of psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane on the NBC sitcoms Cheers and Frasier. He is also the voice actor for Sideshow Bob on the Simpsons.

Grammer attended Pine Crest School, a private prep school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He later attended the Juilliard School which prompted his interest in performing.

Ralph Fiennes


Fiennes' portrayal of Nazi war criminal Amon Göth in Schindler's List brought him to international acclaim. He won several awards just for that role. Since then, Fiennes has been in a number of notable films, including Quiz Show, Strange Days, The End of the Affair, and The Grand Buddhapest Hotel.

Fiennes finished his schooling at Bishop Wordsworth's School. He went on to pursue painting at Chelsea College of Art before deciding that acting was his true passion.
