The True Colors Of Lily From The AT&T Commercials

We all recognize this actress from her entertaining AT&T commercials. She goes by the name Lily in the commercials and has a lot more to offer than her perky personality and friendly smile. She is an unforgettable character. She has used her talents in a wide variety of ways and is becoming quite the actress. The AT&T girl is one talkative gal in the commercial. 

However, actress Milana Vayntrub, is nothing like her on-screen character. She was born in Tashkent and often speaks about her roots. She has been in television productions such as ER, Lizzie McGuire, The Division, The League, House of Lies, Californication, and most recently on the hit show, This Is Us. Milana is a perfect example of someone who uses her own past experiences to help the world. The issue of refugees almost fell into her awareness since her own life experience was when she was too young to remember. While the world knows her as Lily Adams from AT&T, the person behind the character is much more interesting.

Meet Lily, or the name she goes by in her day to day life Milana Vayntrub. 

Although you may know her solely as Lily from the AT&T commercial, she has created a character that has the innate ability to have us audiences actually remember her after the commercial is over.

Milana has a very innocent look to her. You would be surprised to know that her comedy is far from innocent. Milana was a part of the web series CollegeHumor Originals from 2011 to 2014, for a total of 15 episodes.

Rumors have swirled around that Milana was dating singer John Mayer from 2006 to 2007. 

John Mayer has been linked to many women in Hollywood from Jennifer Aniston, Katy Perry, and Jessica Simpson. There have not been any photos that have popped up so this rumor has not been proved.

Milana’s first acting role for television was in 1995 in the hit series ER. Her parents put her in acting to help pay for some of the family's needs. Vayntrub played the role of a Tatiana on ER for three episodes. She was noticed right away as a promising actress. 

In 2014, Milana spent a couple of days filming an episode of Californication. Milana had a small part in that one episode and loved every minute of it. From 2014 to 2016 she played the recurring role of Tara in the sitcom Silicon Valley. Her comedic nature paired very week with the show as it was a satirical sitcom.

Milana’s net worth has been speculated to be around $500,000. This figure is due to the face that Milana has only recently gotten bigger roles in television shows.

Because of her comical demeanor, people couldn’t take their minds off of Lily. This was where Milana truly got noticed. The Director's goal was to make her as relatable as a character in a 30-second commercial that she could be.

She was born Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub on March 8, 1987, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. When she was born, Uzbekistan was part of the yet to be dissolved Soviet Union. 

At three years old, her parents packed up their family and fled the country to Austria because of religious persecution for being Jewish. After they made it to Austria, they eventually made their way to Italy where they waited for permission to board a plane to the United States. In 1990, the family finally arrived in West Hollywood, California.

From 2001 to 2002, Milana was in the show Lizzie McGuire. 

She appeared in three episodes as a dancer. Lizzie McGuire was Milana’s third television appearance.

From 2012-2013 she played the role of Denise for three episodes on roommates enemies. 

Although she may not have the biggest name in the industry, she has been able to maintain steady work as an actress.

Milana has one younger sister that she is extremely proud of. Although her sister is much younger than she is, they look so much alike. 

Milana has always put family first. She has always looked up to her parents and respected the great efforts they made for the safety of their family.

The film is about an estranged father who visits his daughter in Los Angeles, only to find out that she is missing. He then teams up with her ex-boyfriend to find her.

Milana is back on television. She is a part of Marvel’s New Warriors, a television series where she plays the role of Doreen Green and Squirrel Girl. 

The television show is about a group of young adults living together and making a difference in the world. They are an Avengers-like group in a way but their mission is to help people struggling with growing up.

Milana loves to give back. There are a few causes that are close to her heart because of her upbringing. She gives back to groups that sponsor refugees because she once was a refugee that received help. 

Milana feels like it is her karmic duty. One vacation, she was with her father in Greece and she decided to stay and fly out to the island of Lesbos where the Syrian refugees were coming in to try and help as best she could.

Milana is the co-founder of #CantDoNothing. It is an organization that raises awareness and funding for refugee crises around the world. 

She emphasizes not only to educate people that there is a problem, but that there is a lot that can be done to help. She urges people to share the cause on their social media.

Milana is much more than a pretty face, terrific actor and a philanthropist. She holds an undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of California San Diego. 

At just 16, she dropped out of high school to get her GED and started college. She credits the knowledge gained during her college years in the creation of her organization.

Although Milana was too young to remember her home country, she grew up in a home where her Russian heritage was very prominent and constant. 

She grew up hearing Russian and still speaks it with her parents today. Her family traditions and beliefs will always be a huge part of her life. It made her the person she is today.
