Problems With Hair
Isabella is 11 years old. At a very young age, this little girl lost her mother, which made her self-sufficient way too early in her life.
Her father, Philip Pieri, tried to take on all of her mother's duties, but it was difficult for him, especially with Isabella's hair.
A Haircut
After many tries he accepted defeat. He gave a daughter a new haircut because he couldn't deal with it.
“I originally just gave her a crew cut because I didn’t know how, and it was all tangled, and I couldn’t get it out for anything,” Philip said.
A Ponytail
Philip works every day, so he doesn't have any time for doing Isabella's hair in the morning.
Her hair has grown back at this point. But she has no idea what to do with her brown hair, which has grown to shoulder length. As a result, she chooses to wear her hair in a simple ponytail.
A Bus Driver
As a girl, Isabella always dreamed about doing a perfect hairdo, but her father couldn't do it in any way.
She was riding the school bus to school one day when she noticed a classmate asking their driver, Tracey Dean, for help with her hair.
A Good Chance
Isabella believed it was an excellent opportunity and asked Tracey for help. She had no idea that she'll get much more than just hair help from Tracey.
She finally got the love of a mother she'd been craving for two years.
'You treat them like your own kids, you know'
“You can’t be shy, you’ve got to talk to them,” Tracey says referring to the kids who ride her bus.
“You treat them like your own kids, you know.”
A New Friend
Isabella has made a true friend! Now, when Tracey parks the bus near the school, Isabella comes to her for a new hairstyle every day.
They meet almost every morning. Isabella never felt this happy before.
She Is Like A Mom
“It makes me feel like she’s a mom pretty much to me,” Isabella admitted. It must be pretty hard for this small girl to live without a mother at such a young age.
“And it makes me excited for the next day to see what she does.”
Grateful Father
Philip was so grateful to Tracey. He couldn't believe that the bus driver was so considerate and kind to his daughter.
“Tracy didn’t have to step up, but she stepped up to help out; I was amazed," said Isabella's dad.
The Importance Of Hairdo
Perfect hair means a lot to many people, especially young ladies. It should be comfortable, tidy and make them look good.
It helps girls to feel more confident at school.
Confidence
Even Isabella's teachers noticed the change in her character and the increase in confidence every day. And it was surely because of her hair.
“I just noticed her head was a little higher that morning,” said her teacher, Mrs. Freeze, “and she had a little skip in her walk.”
A Terrible Disease
Isabella's mother died of breast cancer, and Tracey revealed that she, too, had the dreadful disease.
She said that she feels so happy that she can help a kid like Isabella.
What Moms Do
“Seven years ago, I found out I had breast cancer, and that’s one of the things that went through my head — who is going to take care of my little ones?" Tracey recalled.
"Not that my husband couldn’t do it, but you know, that’s what moms do. They do their kids’ hair.”
A Friend Forever
Tracey is a perfect example of a kind and sensitive person. She will always be regarded as a family friend forever!
Philip and Isabella feel blessed that they met Tracey.
