70’s Stars That Will Absolutely Drop Your Jaw – Where Are They Now?

AL PACINO

If you are a child of the 60’s, 70’s, or 80’s you are going to recognize most of the people that are on this list. The Stars of the 70’s are still fairly relevant today. They are regularly in movies, have charity causes they support, and are seen routinely on the red carpet.

Most of them have managed to age pretty well! It’s hard to stay in the Hollywood spotlight as one ages, but these 70’s stars manage to do it with style. Here’s is what this list of high level stars is up to today.

Al Pacino has starred in many hit roles in recent years. Best known for “Scarface” and “The Godfather”.

BARBARA BACH

He can currently be seen in Broadway on a play written by the acclaimed David Mammet.

BO DEREK

Barbara Bach starred in many hit films in the 70s, but she will always be known as Anya Amasova from “The Spy Who Loved Me.” These days she’s pretty much given up acting and is content to be an advocate for both education and vegetarianism.

If you made a list of all the sex symbols of the 1970s, Bo Derek’s name would be right at the top! Best known for her role in “10,” she had the type of career that legends are made out of.

CHARLES GRODIN

These days she doesn’t act as much as she used to but spends her time as an advocate for both horses and wounded veterans.

Comedy genius Charles Grodin appeared on a few episodes of the FX show “Louie” last year.

CLINT EASTWOOD

Of course, he was just as brilliant as you’d think he would be because he’s Charles Grodin

In the 1970s, it was hard to find a bigger and more popular actor than Clint Eastwood.

SUSAN DEY

Flash forward to the 21st century, and it’s pretty hard to find a bigger and more popular director than Clint Eastwood

DUSTIN HOFFMAN

“I’ve had women come up to me and say I was the reason they went to law school.” Getting her start as a model in New York City, Susan Dey didn’t have any acting experience when she landed the part of Laurie Partridge at 17 years old on the hit television series The Partridge Family in 1970.

Dustin Hoffman continues to have a celebrated career. My old time favorites, though, are “Rain Man” and “Kramer vs.

DIANE KEATON

Kramer”.

Love Diane Keaton!

FAYE DUNAWAY

Although she doesn’t act as much as she used to, but she recently penned two best-selling books about her life.

GOLDIE HAWN

Faye Dunaway has appeared on many TV shows in recent years, including the hit ABC show “Alias.”

HARRISON FORD

Goldie Hawn seems to have left her acting career behind, but considering how successful she was, it’s okay to take a break, Goldie, and enjoy life!

In 1977, Harrison Ford was the star of the biggest movie ever made – “Star Wars.” These days, he’s currently… the star… of the biggest movie ever made… “Star Wars.” Hmm.

HARVEY KEITEL

It’s funny how life works out sometimes, isn’t it?

JANE FONDA

Harvey Keitel managed to continue his career of superstardom well past 1979 after appearing in some capacity in just about everything that Quentin Tarantino has ever directed.

Jane Fonda was one of the most controversial public figures of the 1970s, irrigating many people with her views on the Vietnam War before such things were pretty much widely accepted as fact.

JAQUELINE BISSET

These days she’s still acting, doing a great job, and looking fabulous!

JEFF BRIDGES

Jaqueline Bisset has had a successful acting career, most recently starring in the BBC miniseries “Dancing on the Edge,” which nabbed her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.

JESSICA LANGE

Jeff Bridges has been such a successful actor, for so long, that there are multiple generations of kids who have been born who have never lived in an era where he wasn’t famous.

Jessica Lange, one of my favorite actors’!

JACK NICHOLSON

She’s had something of a career resurgence after her turn on the hit series “American Horror Story.”

Jack Nicholson, after enjoying one of the most successful film careers ever through the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s, he seems to have retired from acting.

JANE SEYMOUR

We’re pretty sure he’s more than okay with that because he gets to wake up every morning and remember that he’s Jack Freaking Nicholson!

Jane Seymour is perhaps one of the most successful actresses to ever come out of the James Bond franchise.

JOHN TRAVOLTA

She’s been in a large number of different movies over the last few years, like “A Royal Christmas” and “Scout.”

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. After enjoying one of the most successful acting careers ever, his apparent inability to turn down a role, have taken Travolta out of the spotlight these days.

LYNDA CARTER

That’s okay “Danny Zuko” you’ll always be timeless to me!

MICHAEL CAINE

Lynda Carter became internationally famous for being the star of the then-hit show “Wonder Woman.” She doesn’t act nearly as often as she used to, but she still shows up in the occasional movies.

Michael Caine has always been a popular actor, but during the last decade he’s been an integral component of one of the biggest film franchises ever made – Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy.

MICHAEL DOUGLAS

He played Alfred, the loyal butler who always stood by Bruce Wayne’s side through thick and thin.

Michael Douglas may not be as successful as he was in the 1970s, but he’s still plugging along.

MIA FARROW

He can most recently be seen in the hugely successful Marvel Comics film “Ant-Man” opposite Paul Rudd.

GENE WILDER

Mia Farrow was one of the most prominent actresses of the 1970s, starring in many hit films – most of them directed by her future beau Woody Allen.

MARY TYLER MOORE

Gene Wilder retired from acting many years ago, but he can be regularly seen at public speaking events all over the country.

OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN

Mary Tyler Moore can be most recently seen on the TV series “Hot in Cleveland.”

PAM GRIER

Olivia Newton-John is famous for both her recording career and her actress career, but she will always be known from that place on the Venn Diagram where both of those things intersected – “Grease.”

PAULA PRENTISS

Exploitation star of the 70s Pam Grier had something of a resurgence during the 1990s after starring in the hit Quentin Tarantino film “Jackie Brown.” She continues to work, most recently appearing in the 2015 TV film “Cleveland Abductions.”

RICHARD DREYFUSS

Paula Prentiss is famous for her roles in movies like “The Stepford Wives” and “The Parallax View.” She retired from acting in 2007 and is content just living life with her family.

Richard Dreyfuss was one third of the main cast of “Jaws” – the original summer blockbuster and still one of the best movies ever made.

ROBERT DUVALL

These days he continues to act both on film and on the stage.

ROBERT DE NIRO

Robert Duvall continues his acting career and his quest to single handedly try to bring back the western with projects like “Lonesome Dove.”

Robert De Niro was perhaps the most celebrated actor of the 1970s, having starred in films like “Taxi Driver” and “The Godfather Part II.” The list goes on, though,…”Cape Fear, Goodfellas, Casino, A Bronx Tale”, etc…the list goes on!

ROBERT REDFORD

He’s simply amazing in my book!

RAQUEL WELCH

Robert Redford was not only one of the biggest stars of the 70s, he also starred in one of the best movies ever in 1973 – “The Sting.” He’s still acting and oversees his passion project, the Sundance Film Festival.

Raquel Welch looks absolutely AMAZING!! She became famous after her role in “The Fantastic Voyage” and for the acting and singing careers that followed.

SALLY FIELD

She’s still around, but leans much more heavily on the “singing” part of her career than the “acting” one.

Sally Field may have started acting as “Gidget”, in her youth, but continues to act in many hit films!

SUZANNE SOMERS

Some of which, include, the re-boot of the Spider-man franchise in 2012, “The Amazing Spider-man” and its sequel.

Suzanne Somers has left her career in acting behind, except acting as a pitch person on all of those diet book and fitness equipment infomercials.

SYLVESTER STALLONE

That’s okay “Chrissy” you’re still a fav in my book!

Sylvester Stallone rose to permanent A-List status in the 70s thanks to writing and starring in the film “Rocky.” These days, he’s getting nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for “Creed,” in which he played the role of..

WOODY ALLEN

Rocky.

BURT REYNOLDS

Woody Allen continues to make an average of one to two films per year.

Any discussion of famous actors from the 1970s wouldn’t be complete without the mention of Burt Reynolds!

These days he seems to have pretty much retired from acting but he did just write a book that came out to critical acclaim.
