We all know how hot humid it gets during the summer season, we tend to leave our fans and air conditioners on an entire day just to feel refreshed. But It’s also during the summer season where we’re able to enjoy delicious cold treats like ice cream and cold juice. 

Of course, for most people, summer just isn’t complete without the refreshing taste of watermelons! Here are some scrumptious watermelon hacks that will take your summer to a whole new level!

Keep the kids away, this one’s for the adults out there! Who says watermelon can’t be served with a little alcohol? Well, with this recipe, you can have a little fun with your watermelon. 

You just need to follow these simple steps:
1. Add one cup of frozen watermelon cubes into a blender with 1/3 cup watermelon water, juice of half a lemon, 1 scoop of Vega Sport Electrolyte Hydrator and 1oz of vodka. 2. Blend until slushy. 3. Pour into a glass and garnish with a small bunch of fresh mint.

Watermelon pops are just one of the classic summertime refreshments both kids and adults can’t get enough of. 

The steps are simple, you just need to:

  • Chop the flesh of half a watermelon into large chunks.
  • Add to blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour into Popsicle molds and freeze overnight.

Yes, you read that right, Watermelon salsa is a thing! Although the sweetness of the watermelon may seem to be a strange combination with the savory taste of salsa, trust us it actually blends well with the sweet and sour flavor of the tomatoes and lemon. 

Here are some of the things you’ll need:
1 cup Watermelon, finely diced • 6 Roma Tomatoes, seeded and diced • ½ large White Onion, finely diced • 2 cloves garlic, minced • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeds removed and minced • a handful of fresh cilantro leaves only • 1 lime, juiced • 1 Tbs extra virgin olive oil • Sea salt & pepper to taste (Click on the next page for directions)

1. Add all ingredients into a large bowl and mix well. 2. Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.

Grilled watermelon is actually more common than you think. Some families even enjoy preparing and eating these during summer barbecues because it’s so simple and easy to make! All you need is sliced watermelon, a grill, and a skewer! 

To make grilled watermelon, here’s what you need to do:
1. Cut the watermelon into 1- 11/2inch triangle wedges, leaving the rind on the base. 2. Place directly onto a medium-high heat grill for one-two minutes a side. 3. Remove from grill, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and honey. 4. Then top with crumbled feta and season with dried oregano, sea salt & pepper.

You won’t need to shot glasses anymore, watermelon shot glasses sound like a fun way to start a summer party. It’s very easy to make too! You just need a melon baller to scoop out a hole (most preferably as big as a shot glass) and a watermelon. 

To make watermelon shot glasses, all you need to do is to slice the watermelon in half and with the melon baller, scoop out a hole big enough for a shot. It’s nice and quirky plus it’s edible too! 

Stay refreshed with a cold glass of watermelon water. It’s one of the easiest things to make. All you need is a pitcher, water and sliced watermelons.

To make it, just slice the watermelon into small pieces. Grab a pitcher and fill it with water. Put the watermelon slices in and you can also put some ice cubes inside. Voila! You have a refreshing glass of watermelon water.

  • A watermelon
  • A knife and a spoon
  • Jell-O mix
  • Vodka (optional)

  • With a knife, slice the watermelon in half
  • Scrape out the inside of the watermelon using a spoon
  • Prepare the Jell-O mixture (Preferably one with reddish color)
  • Mix the Jell-O mixture with vodka (optional)
  • Pour the Jell-O mixture into the watermelon
  • Wait for a few hours until the Jell-O has settled then serve! 

Everyone loves a good smoothie during the summer season and nothing’s better than a cold and sweet watermelon smoothie! 


  • 3 cups seedless watermelon (frozen, cut into 1/2-inch chunks)
  • 1 cup milk (or almond milk, soy milk, whole milk)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • Garnish: 2 sprigs mint
  • Garnish: 2 small wedges of fresh watermelon

  • Cut the watermelon into small chunks
  • Refrigerate the sliced watermelons for an hour
  • When ready, put the sliced watermelon into the blender along with milk, yogurt, then maple syrup and blend until it is smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into chilled glasses and garnish with a watermelon slice. 

Watermelon cubes with feta cheese? Nothing gets fancier than this! You can serve these delicious watermelon cubes as an appetizer to your friends and family during a summer get-together. 

Here’s what you need:

  • 16 1-inch cubes seedless watermelon, chilled
  • 2 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped mint
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped shallots
  • Pepper

  • Use a small melon baller or a 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon, then scoop out a circle in each watermelon cube. Be careful and make sure the cube is still intact.
  • Get a small bowl then mash together the feta, mint, and shallots. Then season with pepper.
  • Put the feta mixture in the watermelon cubes.

  • Toasted coconut, for garnish
